Watch: Kohli And Anushka Spotted With Daughter Vamika On Holiday In London

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are currently on vacation in the United Kingdom following the conclusion of the Cricket World Cup 2023. While India are currently playing Australia in a T20I series at home, the hosts decided to rest almost all of their first-team cricketers and went with a young squad for the ongoing series. Kohli, who was a phenomenal performer in the World Cup and ended up winning the 'Player of the Tournament' award, was previously clicked on the streets in London and in a recent video going viral on social media, Kohli and Anushka were seen at the Winter Wonderland in London along with daughter Vamika. Kohli clicked some pictures with fans and Anushka was seen playing with daughter Vamika.

As the Indian cricket team enters a new phase after the conclusion of the Cricket World Cup 2023, a young brigade, led by Suryakumar Yadav, is leading the unit against Australia in a 5-match T20I series.

But, with the all-format tour of South Africa not far away, there isn't any official confirmation on the availability of seniors like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

It has now been learned that Kohli has decided to give the white-ball assignment against the Proteas a miss. He will only join the team for the Test series.

According to NDTV sources, Kohli has opted out of the T20I and ODI series against South Africa, beginning December 10. Kohli's future, especially in the shortest format, has been under discussion since the conclusion of the T20 World Cup 2022. The veteran batter continues to stay away from T20 internationals. But, his absence from the ODI assignment did come as a surprise.

It has also been learned that skipper Rohit is yet to confirm what he intends to be a part of the ODI assignment against South Africa. He is expected to give the T20I series in the Rainbow Nation a miss.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selection committee headed by former India allrounder Ajit Agarkar will select the Indian team for all three formats in the coming days.

The two senior batters are likely to line up with the Indian team for the Test assignment which begins on Boxing Day at Centurion.

"Licked Water Dripping From Rocks": Rescued Worker Narrates Ordeal

Anil Bediya, one of the 41 labourers who were rescued from a collapsed Uttarakhand tunnel after 17 days, survived the ordeal by eating 'muri' (puffed rice) and licking water dripping from rocks.

The 22-year-old worker hailing from Jharkhand had a close brush with death after a portion of the Silkyara tunnel on the Brahmakhal-Yamunotri national highway in Uttarakhand collapsed early on November 12.

"Loud shrieks punctuated the air...We all thought we would be buried inside the tunnel and had lost all hope during the first couple of days," Bediya told PTI over the phone from Uttarakhand on Wednesday morning while narrating their harrowing tale.

"It was a nightmarish ordeal...we licked water dripping from rocks to quench our thirst and survived on muri for the first 10 days," Bediya, who is now recuperating at a Uttarakhand hospital, said.

Bediya hails from Khirabeda, a village on the outskirts of Ranchi which saw a total of 13 people going to Uttarkashi on November 1 in search of greener pastures.

Little did they know what fate had in store for them.

Luckily, only three of the 13 from Khirabeda were inside the tunnel when the disaster struck. Fifteen of the 41 workers hail from Jharkahnd's Ranchi, Giridih, Khunti and West Singhbhum, where people have erupted in joy after the trapped workers were rescued on Tuesday evening.

"Our first hope of survival kindled when the authorities established contact with us after nearly 70 hours," Bediya recounted.

According to him, two of their supervisors asked them to drink water dripping through the rocks.

"We had no other option but to relieve ourselves inside the tunnel. Finally, when we heard voices of people communicating with us from outside, a firm belief and hope of survival replaced our desperation," Bediya said.

After the first 10 days of gruelling anxiety, supplies, including fruits like bananas, apples and oranges, besides hot meals like rice, dal and chapatis became regular along with water bottles, he said.

"Huddled together, we used to pray desperately for early rescue ...finally God heard us," he said.

His anxiety-stricken mother had not cooked food for the last two weeks, and the family survived on whatever their neighbours provided them with, a resident of the village said.

In Khirabeda, a paralysed Shravan Bediya, 55, whose only son Rajendra was trapped in the Uttarakhand tunnel, was seen celebrating in a wheelchair after the workers were rescued on Tuesday evening.

Besides 22-year-old Rajendra, two others from the village -- Sukhram and Anil, both in their early 20s -- were trapped inside the tunnel for 17 days.

Sukhram's paralysed mother Parvati, who was inconsolable since she found out about the disaster, was too happy to express her feelings.

The rescue operation began on November 12 after a portion of the under-construction tunnel on Uttarakhand's Char Dham route collapsed following a landslide, cutting off the exit for the workers inside.

Box Office: Salman Khan's Tiger 3 Is At 264 Crore And Counting

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif's Tiger 3 has breached the ₹ 250-crore mark at the box office. But the spy-thriller doesn't seem to be in a mood to slow down any time soon. We say this because after dwindling at the box office on its second Friday, Tiger 3 witnessed a rise in its collection on the second Saturday. On Day 14, Tiger 3 minted ₹ 6 crore (all languages) at the box office, as per Sacnilk. With this, the film appears to be aiming to breach the ₹ 300 crore mark, as its total collection now stands at ₹ 264.67 crore. The film, which is directed by Maneesh Sharma and hit the theatres on November 12, also features Emraan Hashmi as the formidable villain Aatish Rehman.

On Day 13, Tiger 3 minted ₹ 3.50 crore (all languages) at the Indian box office, taking its total to ₹ 258.37 crore, reported Sacnilk.

Tiger 3 successfully entered the coveted ₹250-crore club on Day 12, when the movie added ₹5.12 crore to its collection. On November 22, trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared a detailed breakdown of Tiger 3's collection in its second week. Sharing a post on X (formerly Twitter), Taran Adarsh wrote, “Tiger 3 [Week 2] Friday 13 crore, Saturday 18.25 crore, Sunday 10.25 crore, Monday 7.25 crore, Tuesday 6.60 crore. Total: ₹ 238.35 crore. India business. Hindi version. Box Office. Tiger 3 [Tamil + Telugu; Week 2] Friday 25 lacs, Saturday 50 lacs, Sunday 25 lacs, Monday 10 lacs, Tuesday 10 lacs. Total: ₹ 6.45 crore.”

Meanwhile, the official Instagram page of Yash Raj Films has claimed that Tiger 3 is “the highest-grossing Diwali release in the history of the Indian cinemas.” This is after the film has made a business of ₹ 427 crore across the globe. The text attached to the post read, “Tiger 3 roaring loud in cinemas near you now. In Hindi, Tamil & Telugu.”

In his review for NDTV, film critic Saibal Chatterjee said, “In his third outing as superspy Avinash Singh Rathore alias Tiger, Salman Khan, with aid of a story by producer Aditya Chopra and a screenplay from Shridhar Raghavan, proves that there is always a great deal of purchase from the spectacle of an irrepressible hero leaping off all kinds of perches and landing on his feet. The lead actor's star power comes in handy, but Tiger 3 (like Pathaan and unlike War) is gender-agnostic. Katrina Kaif is allowed almost as much of the action as the invincible Tiger, whose death-defying feats return in the third instalment in a bigger and more brazen form.”

The film is the third instalment of the Tiger franchise after Ek Tha Tiger [2012] and Tiger Zinda Hai [2017]. Tiger 3 is also the fifth film in the Yash Raj Spy Universe.

Bigg Boss 17: Orry's LOL Reply To Salman's Question About His Profession

You must be living under a rock, if you don't know about Orhan Awatramani aka Orry. This young sensation is Bollywood's BFF. He is spotted at parties with Deepika Padukone, Kiara Advani, Ananya Panday, Janhvi Kapoor, and Sara Ali Khan, among others. Now, the burning question on everyone's mind, echoing across social media: "Orry kya karta hai? [What is Orry's profession?]" It seems like even Salman Khan is curious about it. Salman, in the latest episode of Bigg Boss 17, welcomed Orry as a wildcard contestant. In a promo shared on Instagram, Salman Khan announces Orry's entry with a playful mystery: “To ek sawal uthta hai sabke mann me ki yeh Orry kaun hai? To yeh hai paps ka favourite, film celebrities ka bestie, jinki hai mysterious story, please welcome Orry. [A question arises in everyone's mind: who is this Orry? He is the favourite of paparazzi, the bestie of film celebrities, and the one with a mysterious story. Please welcome Orry.]

Here comes Orry rocking a tee that boldly declares, "I am a liver."  As Orry makes his grand entrance, Salman glances at his tee, chuckles, and poses the million-dollar question, "I am a liver?" To this, Orry confidently responds, “Yes, I am a liver. Bhai you act, you are an actor, Lata Mangeshkar sings, she is a singer. I live, I am a liver.”

After looking at Orry's luggage, Salman Khan humorously quips, "Tumko pata hai na ki um is ghar me wild card entry ho. To hum log na logo ko pure sammaan ke saath bhejte hai, aur aap jaa rahe ho saamaan ke saath. [You do know that you are the wild card entry in this house. Usually, we send people with full respect, and here you are going with luggage.]”

Salman Khan then asks the question, "Ab yeh clarity India ko chahiye ki Orry karta kya hai? Yeh to mere ko bhi janna hai. [Now, India needs clarity on what Orry does. I am curious to know myself.]”

In his rustic Hindi, Orry responds, "Bhai, pura duniya sirf yehi prashn ke piche kyu kr re hai? Sab log ko pta hai mai bahut kam (karta hu). Mai subah suraj ke saath uthta hai, raat chand ke saath sota hai. Mai bahut kaam karta hai. Mai apne aap pe kaam karta hai. [Why is the world obsessing over this question? I do a lot of hard work. I wake up with the morning Sun and sleep with the evening moon. I work a lot. I work on myself.]”

Bursting into laughter, Salman Khan adds, "Pehla aadmi hai suraj ke saath uthhta hai aur chand ke saath sota hai. [He's the first man who wakes up with the sun and sleeps with the moon.]” Orry, with a knowing smile, chimes in, "Haan [yes.]"

In another promo, Orry is caught saying, "Mai anda (andha) hai, mai nahi dekh skta, [I am blind, I can't see]." To which, Salman playfully quips, "Kya? Anda hai? [What? Are you blind?]"

The curious case of Orry's profession was first discussed on Karan Johar's superhit chat show Koffee With Karan 8. The filmmaker questioned Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Panday about Orry. He asked, “Can you just tell the world who he is?  What is his job?”

Israel Shares Video Of "Terrorist Tunnel" Under Gaza's Biggest Hospital

The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) today shared videos claiming to have found a "terrorist tunnel" underneath Gaza's biggest hospital. The Al-Shifa hospital, the biggest in the besieged Palestinian enclave, serves as the lifeline for the region's residents.

Following the October 7 attacks and the subsequent Israeli military incursion into Gaza, Israel has claimed that the hospital serves as an operational headquarters for Hamas.

In a recent video, Israeli special forces claim to have entered a shaft located in the middle of a courtyard inside the Al-Shifa premises. The IDF claims that the shaft leads to a tunnel that opens up to a corridor.

"We went inside, escorted by the special forces because we needed to go through a warehouse where they located a lot of ammunition, guns, and explosives that needed to be discarded," an IDF official said.

"The first time our forces entered the Shifa complex, they went in with a bomb-sniffing dog and they discovered a truck full of ammunition," she claimed.

"Further investigations, including the use of specialised equipment lowered into the shaft, revealed that it was a 10-metre deep shaft that led to a corridor. At the end of the corridor was a blast-proof door with a shooting hole at the top. After ensuring that all defense mechanisms were safely dismantled, our forces opened the door, revealing another door leading deeper into the complex," she added.

Last night, the head of the Al-Shifa hospital was arrested by Israeli forces. Hospital director Mohammad Abu Salmiya has been vocal about the conditions inside the Al-Shifa hospital after repeated Israeli airstrikes on Gaza.

Both the Israeli military and Hamas have accused each other of waging a "propaganda war" against each other since the region plunged into chaos following the October 7 attacks. Morphed images, decontextualised videos unrelated to the ongoing crisis have often been found circulating on social media with illegitimate claims.

While authentic footage and firsthand accounts of the destruction have been circulated extensively, there have also been occurrences of people disseminating misinformation and misrepresenting videos from unrelated incidents.

Credit Card Fraud: How To Stay Safe, What Do To If Card Details Stolen?

Paying for things digitally is so common, most of us think nothing of swiping or tapping our card, or using mobile payments. While doing so is second nature, we may be more reluctant to provide card details over the phone.

Merchants are allowed to ask us for credit card details over the phone – this is perfectly legal. But there are minimum standards they must comply with and safeguards to protect consumer data.

So is giving your card details over the phone any more risky than other transactions and how can you minimise the risks?

How is my card data protected?

For a merchant to process card transactions, they are expected to comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. This is a set of security requirements designed to protect cardholder data and the trillions of dollars of transactions each year.

Compliance involves various security measures (such as encryption and access controls) together with strong governance and regular security assessments.

If the information stored by the merchant is accessed by an unauthorised party, encryption ensures it is not readable. That means stealing the data would not let the criminals use the card details. Meanwhile, access controls ensure only authorised individuals have access to cardholder data.

Though all companies processing cards are expected to meet the compliance standards, only those processing large volumes are subject to mandatory regular audits. Should a subsequent data leak or misuse occur that can be attributed to a compliance failure, a company can be penalised at levels that can escalate into millions of dollars.

These requirements apply to all card transactions, whether in person, online or over the phone. Phone transactions are likely to involve a human collecting the card details and either entering them into computer systems, or processing the payment through paper forms. The payment card Security Standards Council has detailed guides for best practice:

A policy should be in place to ensure that payment card data is protected against unauthorised viewing, copying, or scanning, in particular on desks.

Although these measures can help to protect your card data, there are still risks in case the details are misplaced or the person on the phone aren't who they say they are.

Basic tips for safe credit card use over the phone

If you provide card details over the phone, there are steps you can take to minimise the chance you'll become the victim of fraud, or get your details leaked.

1. Verify the caller

If you didn't initiate the call, hang up and call the company directly using details you've verified yourself. Scammers will often masquerade as a well-known company (for example, an online retailer or a courier) and convince you a payment failed or payment is needed to release a delivery.

Before you provide any information, confirm the caller is legitimate and the purpose of the call is genuine.

2. Be sceptical

If you are being offered a deal that's too good to be true, have concerns about the person you're dealing with, or just feel something is not quite right, hang up. You can always call them back later if the caller turns out to be legitimate.

3. Use secure payment methods

If you've previously paid the company with other (more secure) methods, ask to use that same method.

4. Keep records

Make sure you record details of the company, the representative you are speaking to and the amount being charged. You should also ask for an order or transaction reference. Don't forget to ask for the receipt to be sent to you.

Check the transaction against your card matches the receipt – use your banking app, don't wait for the statement to come through.

What to do if you think your card details have been compromised or stolen?

It's important not to panic, but quick action is essential:

Screenshot of on-line banking app showing card settings
Example credit card restrictions in a banking app. Author provided
  • call your bank and get the card blocked so you won't lose any more money. Depending on your situation, you can also block/cancel the card through your banking app or website

  • report the issue to the police or other relevant body

  • monitor your account(s) for any unusual transactions

  • explore card settings in your banking app or website – many providers allow you to limit transactions based on value, restrict transaction types or enable alerts

  • you may want to consider registering for credit monitoring services and to enable fraud alerts.

So, should I give my card details over the phone?

If you want to minimise risk, it's best to avoid giving card details over the phone if you can. Providing your card details via a website still has risks, but at least it removes the human element.

The best solution currently available is to use virtual cards – if anything goes wrong you can cancel just that unique card identity, rather than your entire card. The Conversation

"They Go Down On Their Knees And Say...": Actor On Casting Couch

Actor Ankit Gupta is one of the most popular faces on Indian television today. However, his rise to stardom was not without its fair share of struggle. Speaking to Pinkvilla, Ankit Gupta opened about having faced the horrors of the casting couch early in his career. The actor said that several people would meet him, promise him job opportunities in return for favours. When asked if Ankit Gupta had ever faced the casting couch in his career, the star said with a wry smile, “I have met such people that I can't even tell you. There are people, they call you with offers, and they tell you lots of stories and they take a lot of names… usko mein banaya, isko mein launch kiya [ I launched that person], to convince you they would say anything.”

Sharing what he was told by those engaging in such activities, Ankit Gupta said, “‘Everybody does it, Ankit. You want to work in the industry? This is how it's done. Tu abhi nahi karega, 2-3 saal baad ayega, phir kahega aab kar lo, mein nahi karunga (You are not doing it right now, but you will return after a few years and agree to do it then.) You don't wanna waste 2-3 years.'”

Ankit Gupta added, “I have met such people… I don't know if I should say this on camera or not, they would go down on their knees and say, at least let me touch you. That's it, nothing.”

Previously, actor Shiv Thakare – who was a contestant alongside Ankit Gupta in Bigg Boss 16 – also spoke about his casting couch experience in the industry. Sharing that the casting couch is a bane that does not discriminate between men and women, Shiv Thakare told Hindustan Times in March, “I once went for an audition in Aram Nagar and he took me to the bathroom and said, ‘Yaha pe massage centre hai'. I didn't get the connection between an audition and a massage centre. He told me, ‘Ek baar aap aao yaha audition ke baad. Aap workout bhi karte ho...' I just left the place, since he was a casting director and I didn't want to take any pangas.”

He added, “I am no Salman Khan. But I realised there is no discrimination between men and women when it comes to this (casting couch),” adding, “There was a ma'am in Four Bungalows. She would tell me ki, ‘Maine isko banaya hai, maine usko banaya hai'. She was calling me for an audition at 11 in the night. Itna bhola toh nahi hoon main ki I won't understand what auditions happen at night. So, I told her that I have some work and I cannot make it. To this, she said, ‘Kaam nahi karna?' ‘You won't get work in the industry' and other such things. So, they would demotivate you and manipulate you. But I would never get bothered by it,” echoing what Ankit Gupta would come to say several months later.

On the work front, Ankit Gupta was last seen in the TV show Junooniyatt

X CEO Linda Yaccarino Urged To Resign After Musk Endorses Antisemitic Post

Linda Yaccarino, the Chief Executive Officer of X (formerly Twitter), is being urged by a number of advertising executives to resign from her role in the wake of an advertiser exodus and scrutiny over owner Elon Musk's antisemitic remarks on the platform. According to CNN, over the weekend, a "groundswell" of advertising executives urged Ms Yaccarino to step down as the CEO of X in order to save her reputation before it was "damaged".

"I sent her a text yesterday after thinking about it long and hard saying that," said Lou Paskalis, chief executive of marketing consultancy AJL Advisory and a former top media executive at Bank of America. Mr Paskalis stated that other members of the industry had done the same. "My advice was to leave before her reputation was damaged," he added, as per CNN

However, Ms Yaccarino has refused to leave her position, the Financial Times reported. She believes in X's goals and the people working there, two people familiar with the matter told the outlet. Separately, Ms Yaccarino, who joined the social media platform earlier this year, also took to X to indicate that for now, she is not going anywhere.

"I believe deeply in our vision, our team, and our community," the X CEO posted on Monday. "I'm also deeply committed to the truth and there is no other team on earth working as hard as the teams at X," she added.

Notably, this comes after X owner Elon Musk came under fire for publicly endorsing an antisemitic conspiracy theory on the micro-blogging site. It also comes after two reports from the non-profit group Media Matters for America found advertisements for top brands next to pro-Nazi content. This prompted brands including IBM, Apple, Walt Disney, Comcast and Warner Bros to suspend their advertising on the platform. According to the Financial Times, they and other companies are also attempting to distance themselves from Mr Musk following his comments.

However, in a letter to employees sent on Sunday, which was viewed by CNN, Ms Yaccarino reaffirmed her commitment to the company's work. "Our work is critical, but it's not always easy. What we're doing matters, which means it naturally invites criticism from those who do not share our beliefs," she said, adding that X has taken steps to "combat antisemitism and discrimination".

Over the weekend, the platform accused Media Matters of aggressively searching for such content in a way that "misrepresented the real user experience" and could "mislead advertisers". However, X did not remove the pro-Nazi accounts mentioned in the Media Matters' report, saying that their posts had little engagement and that they would no longer be eligible for monetization. "No critic will ever deter us from our mission to protect free speech," Ms Yaccarino said in the letter.

On Monday, X even sued Media Matters, alleging the organization defamed the platform after it published a report that said ads for major brands had appeared next to posts touting Nazism.

Alcohol, Meat Served At Pak's Kartarpur Sahib, Claims Gurudwara Body Chief

In a shocking incident, a party was allegedly organised in the premises of holy site of Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara hurting the religious sentiments.

Jagdip Singh Kahlon, the General Secretary of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, has alleged that alcohol and meat were served during the party, which goes against the beliefs of the Sikh community.

He strongly condemned the incident and urged the Pakistan government to take action against those responsible.

"Unacceptable! I strongly condemn the sacrilegious incident within the sacred premises of Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib where a party organised involving alcohol & meat. @GovtofPakistan should take swift action against all responsible people," Kahlon posted on X (formerly Twitter).

In a similar incident in 2021, a Pakistani model's bareheaded photos within the Gurdwara complex sparked widespread criticism on social media.

Expressing concern over the incident, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Harjinder Singh Dhami and Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) president Harmeet Singh Kalka have taken note of the video and its potential implications, Khalsa Vox reported.

SGPC president Dhami emphasized that if the event occurred within the Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib complex, it would constitute a violation of 'maryada' and Sikh sentiments, particularly in a place so closely associated with Guru Nanak Dev.

Expressing disappointment, he said, "The authorities should have refrained from indulging in such a kind of act as it would lead to hurting the sentiments of the global Sikh community."

DSGMC spokesperson Manjit Singh Bhoma demanded a public apology from the organizers, emphasizing that the event took place near the PMU office, an integral part of the Gurdwara Kartarpur complex. The call for an apology underscores the seriousness with which Sikh organizations view any actions that may disrespect the sanctity of the religious site.

This incident has reignited concerns about the need for strict adherence to Sikh 'rehat maryada' and the responsible management of religious sites.

Notably, the Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib holds immense significance for Sikhs worldwide, and any perceived disrespect is bound to evoke strong reactions from the Sikh community, Khalsa Vox reported.

Watch: Joe Biden, Xi Jinping's Surprise Meet-And Greet At Key Summit

In their first in-person meeting in a year, US President Joe Biden met with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping last week in San Francisco.

Joe Biden praised "real progress" with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit last Thursday as they agreed to restore military-to-military communications in a bid to ease soaring tensions.

From photo-ops to moments from their meeting were widely shared on the internet. They were seen strolling through the gardens on the estate, chatting and smiling.

An undated video has now emerged that shows Joe Biden going up to Xi Jingping to shake hands.

In the video, Joe Biden is seen approaching Xi Jinping and shaking hands, with one hand on his Chinese counterpart.

The two world leaders met at the summit following months of intensive diplomatic efforts to lay the groundwork for this critical dialogue, amidst mounting tensions across a spectrum of issues, including trade, human rights, and the pandemic.

APEC is largely focused on trade, and groups countries as disparate as Muslim-majority Indonesia and the United States, Israel's most important ally.

China routinely warns it will not budge on issues it considers "red lines," such as Taiwan, a self-ruling island off its coast that Beijing claims as its own territory, and its expansion into the South China Sea.

But Washington and Beijing have recently made some progress on trade and economic relations as well as climate change talks.

Another Taylor Swift Fan Dead, Was Stabbed To Death After Brazil Concert

A day after a fan collapsed and died at Singer Taylor Swift's concert in Brazil, a 25-year-old man, who had travelled to Rio De Janeiro to attend the singer's world tour, was stabbed to death. Gabriel Milhomem Santos was killed on Sunday morning, after he attended the concert. He was still wearing a "Swifties" bracelet on his wrist when he was found, reports say.

The "Fearless" singer has been performing in the Brazilian city as part of her Eras Tour with hundreds of thousands of fans attending from all over the world.

According to reports, Santos was sleeping at the Copacabana beach with his cousins when three men attacked them in an attempt to rob the group. The man stabbed Santos and fled with two mobile phones. Two of the robbers were later arrested for stealing 80 chocolate bars but were released soon after.

Santos' parents said the Aeronautical Engineering student was fulfilling a lifelong dream by attending the concert and would be buried wearing the special outfit he made to watch the concert.

Santos' killing follows the death of another fan who went into cardiac arrest during the singer's concert on Friday.  23-year-old Ana Clara Benevides suffered a stroke while waiting among the crowd in sweltering heat,  amid a record-breaking heat-wave across Brazil. Fans were reportedly not allowed to carry water bottle inside the concert venue. Benevides was given CPR on site by a team of doctors and was rushed to the hospital but she suffered another stroke and died.

The singer took to Instagram to share the news and postponed the second show in her three-night concert tour. “I'm writing this from my dressing room in the stadium. The decision has been made to postpone tonight's show due to the extreme temperatures in Rio. The safety and wellbeing of my fans, fellow performers and crew has to, and always will, come first. There's very little information I have other than the fact that she was so incredibly beautiful and far too young,” the singer wrote.

After Benevides' death, videos showed the "Bad Blood" singer handing out water bottles to fans amid the growing heat.

ONGC To Start Crude Oil Production In KG Basin Next Week

The state-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) will start the production of crude oil from its flagship deep-water project in Krishna Godavari Basin next week.

The production will help India save nearly Rs 11,000 crore per year. India imports 85 per cent of its crude oil requirements and about half of its natural gas needs.

ONGC also plans a capital expenditure of Rs 1 lakh crore for petrochemical projects by 2028-2030. The investment will be used for two separate projects.

The movement in KG Basin is considered very significant, say top officials of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MPNG). The production from its much-publicised deep sea asset is expected to be a shot in the arm for the explorer and help reverse the low productions bothering the state-owned hydrocarbon behemoth.

Astrologers say the time between November 20 and November 26 is a very special moment for projects in India, there are chances of new opportunities.

The increase in domestic output will also help save outflow of precious foreign exchange on import of crude oil. At current Brent crude price of $77.4, this output alone will save Rs 29 crore every day (at Rs 83.29 to $1) or a staggering Rs10,600 crore on an annual basis.

Initially, oil production from the basin was scheduled to start from November 2021, but the deadline was delayed several times.

In short, this will be ONGC's first significant oil producing asset on the East Coast.

The KG-DWN-98/2 block has a number of discoveries that have been clubbed into clusters. It is situated 35 km off the coast of Andhra Pradesh in the Bay of Bengal with water depths up to 3,200 metres. The discoveries in the block are divided into three clusters - Cluster-1, 2 and 3. Cluster 2 is being put to production first.

Besides crude oil output, 7-8 mmscmd (million metric standard cubic metres per day) of gas will start to flow from the middle of calendar 2024.

The hydrocarbon giant, it is reliably learnt, will press into service as many as 75 rigs. ONGC plans to start producing from three to four wells in the initial phase, when the production could be 8,000 to 9,000 barrels per day. The company actually aims to drill 541 oil wells in FY24, up from 461 wells drilled in the last fiscal.

The production from the KG-DWN-98/2 block will add to India's domestic production and help reduce the dependence on imports to some extent. India currently produces approximately 600,000 barrels of oil per day. Thus, at peak, the cluster-2 project will account for 7% of India's output.

"This is the start. Peak oil production of 45,000 barrels per day is expected sometime in FY 24-25. At the peak output of 45,000 barrels per day, this will be the third most prolific offshore asset for ONGC after Mumbai High and Bassein & Satellite fields, both on the West Coast," said a top ministry official.

With a combination of fresh output and enhanced recoveries, ONGC group's oil production is likely to rise to top 25 million tonnes in FY25 compared to 21.5 million tonnes in FY23.

ONGC has seen a fall in its crude oil output as most of the assets are mature and a natural decline has set in. Even as ONGC is investing in technology for enhanced oil recovery and improved oil recovery, the commencement of output from new assets like the KG block will certainly reverse the trend of falling output.

In Q2, ONGC's consolidated net profit soared 142.4 percent at Rs 16,553 crore.

Earlier, ONGC had announced that it will bring in an equity partner in ONGC Petro additions Limited (OPaL) by financial year 2026-2027. ONGC had then said it wants to infuse Rs 18,365 crore in OPaL, and make OPaL a joint venture.

OPaL is a joint venture between ONGC, GAIL (India) and Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Limited (GSPC).

India vs Australia: What If Cricket World Cup 2023 Final Ends In A Tie?

The Cricket World Cup 2023 final has arrived, with Australia and India set to vie against each other in a bid to get their hands on the trophy. Australia, who have won the title on five occasions before, will be determined to not make the same mistakes they did against India when the two teams met in the league stage of the campaign. For the Indian team, it would be about continuing the momentum for one game, having gone unbeaten in the tournament so far.

Both India and Australia were in the semi-finals of the Cricket World Cup 2019 but none of them made it to the final. England and New Zealand had qualified for the final which turned out to be a nail-biter. England eventually emerged as winners, but only through boundary count, a methodology which has since been scrapped.

What happens if India vs Australia World Cup 2023 final ends in a tie?

If scores are level after a full 100-over contest in the India vs Australia World Cup final, the boundary count rule would not come into effect.

If the scores are tied, both teams will compete in a Super Over. If the Super Over also ends in a tie, subsequent Super Overs will be held until a winner is determined. In the 2019 World Cup, a tied Super Over resulted in the winner being decided through boundary count.

It also has to be noted that an additional time of 120 minutes has been alotted for the final, in a case where certain situations see the match being stretched beyond the stipulated time.

The reserve day has also been kept for the match, in a case a 20-over-per-side contest doesn't get completed on Sunday because of weather-related issues. But, going by the forecast for the final, it doesn't look like that would be the case.

"Wherever They Come, Terrorists, Criminals...": PM Hits Out At Congress

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday lambasted the Congress government in Rajasthan, alleging the party sent the state to the top in the number crimes and riots by letting anti-social elements loose with its policy of appeasement.

Addressing a rally in Bharatpur, PM Modi taunted state Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, saying the people have decided not to vote for the "jadugar" and that Congress will vanish from the state after the election. "3 December, Congress 'chhoo mantar.'" Before he entered politics, Gehlot, the son of a professional magician, toured the country performing magic tricks.

Assembly polls are due to take place in Rajasthan on November 25 and counting of votes will be done on December 3.

"On the one hand, India is becoming a leader in the world. On the other hand, you all know what happened in Rajasthan in the last five years. Congress has made Rajasthan a leader in corruption, riots, and crimes. That's why Rajasthan is saying - Magician ji, you won't get any votes," PM Modi said.

He also accused the party of giving a free hand to criminal elements with its policy of appeasement.

"Wherever Congress come to power, terrorists, criminals and rioters are let loose. Appeasement is everything for Congress. Congress can go to any extent for appeasement, even if it means putting your life at stake," PM Modi said.

He said that the state under Congress' five years' rule has seen a maximum number of crimes against women and Dalits.

"Be it Holi, Ram Navami, or Hanuman Jayanti, you people could not celebrate any festival peacefully. Riots, stone pelting, curfew, all this continued in Rajasthan," he said.

The PM said the Congress has shattered the confidence of the women of Rajasthan.

"The Chief Minister is saying that women file fake rape cases. Can he protect women? Does such a Chief Minister have the right to remain in chair even for a minute?" PM Modi asked.

Thousands Ghosted By Their AI Girlfriends After Company CEO Jailed: Report

Thousands of users have been unable to access the services of AI chatbot company Forever Voices since its founder and CEO was arrested, according to media reports.

Forever Voices stopped its operations on October 23, following the arrest of the company CEO John Meyer.

Mr Meyer was taken into custody for allegedly burning boxes in his building in Texas. It reportedly caused an estimated $3,60,000 in damages to the building.

As a result of this, Forever Voices went offline, leaving many of its users wondering why their virtual girlfriends had suddenly stopped chatting.

Forever Voices created AI chatbots based on real people, like influencer Caryn Marjorie, using Telegram for users to chat with virtual versions of these personalities.

Even though the platform wasn't meant for adult content, users began having sexual conversations, causing the AI chatbot to become more erotic.

As of October, users paying to talk to chatbots, like CarynAI, no longer have access to them.

Before the service went offline, the Forever Voices account posted a series of unusual conspiracy theories on X (formerly Twitter) involving the FBI, former US President Donald Trump, and "rogue CIA terrorists."

However, Caryn Marjorie revealed the next version of her chatbot on October 30, named “CarynAI 2.0”. She mentioned that CarynAI had been acquired by the tech startup BanterAI in a "six-figure deal."

“I am very excited for CarynAI and its users to experience a new upgrade in AI companionship,” she said on X.

Ms Marjorie assured that the new chatbot girlfriend will elevate the entire experience, ensuring that no DM goes unanswered.
