#SackDravid Trends On Twitter After India's Kohli-Rohit Gamble Backfires

The absence of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli from the Indian team for the 2nd ODI left many baffled. As the hunt for the perfect team combination for the forthcoming ODI World Cup continues, the fact that the Indian team management decided to rest the two senior-most players -- Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma -- didn't go down well with many fans and experts. To make the matters worse, India lost the match to West Indies after only managing to put 181 runs on the board. Seeing the Indian team struggle on Saturday, fans started to target head coach Rahul Dravid on Twitter.

India's below-par show in the match saw many question the team's preparation plans for the World Cup. As the No. 4 spot continues to remain a worry for the team, the fact that the team management, including coach Dravid, are making wayward changes with the team, left many fans baffled.

In fact, #SackDravid started to trend on social media as fans started to anticipate another failure at an ICC event.

6biogo1

Here's how fans expressed their disappointment, blaming Dravid:

Dravid, explaining the reason behind Rohit, Kohli's absence from the second ODI team, said that playing the veteran duo would not have given the team 'answers'.

"We will always look into the bigger picture and we cannot think about every single game and series. In the series like this, with only two-three matches to go before the world cup and Asia cup, playing Virat and Rohit would not have given us answers," Dravid said after the match.

"We are not too worried about others opinions, these are the talented boys from our country, they all have performed and come here. It is up to them to take the opportunity when they are given the opportunity. We were little disappointed toward, we knew it was a tricky wicket and not an easy wicket to bat on but we needed to somehow get to 230-240 that could have been a very good score. We lost wickets in the middle and were 50-60 run short," he further explained.

Bigg Boss OTT 2: Salman Khan Slams Elvish Yadav For Using Foul Language

It is that time of the week again. Yes, it is time for Weekend Ka Vaar, when Salman Khan meets the contestants of Bigg Boss OTT and speaks to them about their actions – good and bad – from the previous week. The superstar in the recent episode of the show spoke to various contestants about their behaviour, often warning them about how the audience was judging them. In particular, Elvish Yadav was advised against using foul language by Salman Khan. The superstar also told other housemates that it was important to stand up to Elvish when he was wrong. Salman Khan then proceeds to show the audience a conversation between Manisha Rani, Abhishek Malhan and Elvish about Bebika Dhurve. The clip in question features Elvish using derogatory language against Bebika in the conversation with Abhishek and Manisha.

Following this, Elvish Yadav has a conversation with his mother and he breaks down. He also apologises to fellow housemates for his behaviour and explains that he has anger issues that he will work on. As Elvish breaks down after hearing his mother's voice, Salman Khan says, “Elvish listen to me, your mother hasn't seen the clip. We had trimmed the inappropriate part from the clip and showed her a censored version."

Check out glimpses of Salman Khan's interaction with Elvish Yadav:

Meanwhile, following rumours that Salman Khan would be quitting Bigg Boss OTT 2, the actor rubbished the reports. He told ANI, “My fans are my biggest achievement and pride! I am what I am because of them. Yes, I lose my cool on the show and sometimes even walk out but I always come back only and only for my fans who patiently wait for my Weekend ka Vaar.”

Australia's Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne Script Bizarre Ashes Record

Australian batters Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschange entered record books for the slow pace of their batting during the fifth and final Ashes Test against England at The Oval. They batted at a run rate that created a new Ashes record. Khawaja and Marnus batted really slow in Australia's first innings, stitching 42-run stand for the second wicket in 26 overs. This was largely due to Labuschagne's slow knock of nine runs in 82 balls. By the time Labuschagne was dismissed, Khawaja had played 123 balls and was unbeaten on 37.

This partnership came at a run rate of 1.61, which is the lowest partnership in Ashes history among the pairs which faced a minimum of 150 balls in an innings together.

They broke the record of England's Michael Carberry and Joe Root, who had scored at a run rate of 1.75 against Australia in Adelaide in 2013. In the second Test of the series back then, the duo stitched a stand of 48 runs in about 27 overs.

Australia were 115/2 at Lunch with Steve Smith and Usman Khawaja on 13* and 47* respectively.

In their first innings, England were bundled out for 283 runs after being put to bat first by Australia.

Harry Brook (85 in 91 balls with 11 fours and two sixes) top-scored for England and had a 111-run stand with Moeen Ali (34 in 37 balls with three fours and two sixes) after England slipped to 73/3. A 49-run stand for the eighth wicket between Mark Wood (28) and Chris Woakes (36) helped England reach a decent first-innings score.

Mitchell Starc (4/82) was the pick of the bowlers for Australia. Josh Hazlewood and Todd Murphy took two wickets each while skipper Pat Cummins and Mitchell Marsh got a wicket each.

Australia are leading the five-match series 2-1. Though Australia has regained the Ashes urn, England can still level the series.

"Have To Applaud...": Ashwin's Interesting Take On Smith's "Non" Run Out

The Day 2 of the ongoing second Ashes Test between England and Australia grabbed a lot of eyeballs after Steve Smith survived a close run-out call. Smith was clearly out of the crease when wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow had hit the stumps. However, Smith was declared not out by the third umpire, as per the MCC rules. This decision invited a lot of controversy as many cricketers and fans expressed their opinion regarding the same. However, India all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin backed third umpire Nitin Menon for making the "right decision".

Taking to Twitter, Ashwin wrote, "What's with the Ashes and substitute fielders. #ashes2023 #ashes2005 #garypratt #georgeeahlam. Have to applaud Nitin Menon for making the right decision."

On the day two of the fifth Ashes series, Smith was saved from a run out on the "benefit of the doubt" to batter. At first, it seemed that Smith was short of his ground. But, after seeing replays, umpire Nitin Menon ruled that the bail was not completely dislodged from both grooves of Jonny Bairstow until Smith was in his crease. Bairstow had knock off a bail with his arm and when the ball reached on his grooves, Smith was in the crease.

Under the Laws, the bail has to be completely removed. Law 29.1 states: "The wicket is broken when at least one bail is completely removed from the top of the stumps, or one or more stumps is removed from the ground."

Tom Smith's Cricket Umpiring and Scoring, MCC's Official Interpretation of the Laws of Cricket, adds: "For the purposes of dismissal - a bail has been removed at the moment that both ends of it leave their grooves."

Talking about the match, Smith's 71 helped Australia recover from a batting collapse as the tourists frustrated England by establishing a first-innings lead in the fifth and final Ashes Test at The Oval on Friday.

Australia were eventually bowled out with what became the last ball of the second day for 295, 12 runs ahead of England's 283. It looked as if England would enjoy a sizeable advantage as veteran seamer Stuart Broad sparked a slump that saw Australia decline from 115-2 to 185-7.

Shanaya Kapoor, who will make her Bollywood debut with Dharma Production's Bedhadak, has declared that “there's nothing like a Karan Johar film.” She added, “No one does it better than you, and no one can create the magic of romance like you. Film critic Saibal Chatterjee, in his review for NDTV, said, “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, written by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan and Sumit Roy, aims to deliver a mix of hearty laughs and 'useful' marital advice. It makes rather heavy weather of both although in the matter of taking cracks at unmasking patriarchy, outdated notions of masculinity and cultural chauvinism, it does deliver a few pointed home truths.”

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani also stars Jaya Bachchan, Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi.

Jawaharlal Nehru Sent "Top Secret" Letter To Oppenheimer. It Said...

Robert J Oppenheimer, the subject of Christopher Nolan's latest film, was an American physicist who is called the 'father of the atomic bomb'. With the release of the film, there is renewed interest in the life of the scientist. And a recently-released book claimed that Mr Oppenheimer was invited to immigrate to India and settle down here. The revelation was made by Bakhtiyar K Dadabhoy, who wrote a 723-page biography of Homi Jehangir Bhabha, which was released in April this year.

The book talks about the friendly relationship between Mr Oppenheimer and Mr Bhabha.

"In all probability, Bhabha met Oppenheimer after the war had ended and the two became good friends. This was hardly surprising since Oppenheimer like Bhabha was a highly cultured man. He had studied Sanskrit and was also conversant with Latin and Greek," Mr Dadabhoy said in the biography 'Homi J Bhabha: A Life', according to New Indian Express.

After the atomic bomb he created was dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki during the Second World War, Mr Oppenheimer was shaken, according to the BBC. In the development phase, he had assuaged his colleagues' ethical hesitations about developing the powerful bomb, saying they are only doing their job and they were not responsible for decisions about how the weapon should be used.

But once the deed was done, the physicist argued against the development of further weapons, especially the hydrogen bombs, which his work had paved the way for.

The changed stance resulted in Mr Oppenheimer being investigate by the US government in 1954 and having his security clearance stripped, and he could no longer get involved in policy decisions, as per the BBC.

There were also allegations that Mr Oppenheimer and his wife Katherine had ties to communism.

It was against this backdrop that he was offered Indian citizenship by then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on the insistence of Mr Bhabha, as per the book.

"When Oppenheimer lost his security clearance in 1954 it was presumably on Bhabha's intervention that he was invited by Jawaharlal Nehru on more than one occasion to visit India, and even immigrate if he so wished," Mr Dadabhoy said about the issue.

But the physicist declined, as per Times of India, because he felt it would not be proper for him to leave the US until he had been cleared of all the charges.

"He feared that permission would not only be refused, but also that it would only increase suspicion about him," it quoted Mr Dadabhoy's book as saying.

Mumbai-Based CEO Says He Paid Rs 100 For 500 Metre Auto Ride In Bengaluru

Needless to say, travelling by autorickshaws in Bengaluru is an expensive affair. Many times, auto drivers in Bengaluru end up quoting exorbitant fares for short rides, upsetting commuters. In a similar instance, the CEO of a Mumbai-based company took to X, formerly Twitter, to share his experience of travelling in an auto, in Bengaluru.

Mandar Natekar, co-founder and CEO of NeuralGarage, complained that auto drivers in the city don't charge fares by the meter. He further said that he had to shell out Rs 100 for a mere 500-meter ride in the city.

He wrote, ''In this photo, you will see the most ornamental thing in Bengaluru. The great Auto Meter. So expensive that it never gets used. I just paid 100Rs for a 500 mtrs ride. To give perspective, in Mumbai 100Rs is the meter fare for approx 9 km.''

He also added a picture of the vehicle's meter and called this experience a "peak Bengaluru" moment.

See the tweet here:

Twitter users resonated with his tweet and shared similar experiences. Vijay Koshy, president, TVF, commented, ''It's practically the same for every city outside Mumbai. Chennai is notorious for its auto rides.''

Replying to him, Mr. Natekar said, ''It is ridiculous, to say the least, but seems like this highway robbery is not legit. No one bothers.''

A second user wrote ''Very few cities have auto-meter fare system. Mumbai and Palakkad are the only two cities I am aware of. Nothing can be done either.''

A third added, ''Mumbai is the only place in India, where rickshaws function properly on meter. The rest of India is all about loot.''

A fourth remarked, ''Count your blessings. Most of the time, they don't wish to go anywhere.''

Last year, the Karnataka government raised the metre fares to Rs 30 from Rs 25 for the first two kilometres and the base price per kilometre to Rs 15 from Rs 13.

US Entrepreneur Flies Jet, Drives Exotic Cars But Says She Is "Struggling"

The wildly successful serial entrepreneur Jessica Mah is best known as the founder of inDinero, a fintech company that helps small businesses to manage their finances. Ms Mah built her first six-figure business while she was in middle school and has since grown her portfolio of companies to over $500 million in value. The venture capitalist is a Forbes 30 Under 30 superstar, and for fun, she flies jet aircraft and drives exotic cars. However, she still insists that her life is not the fairy tale it appears to be.

Taking LinkedIn, the startup founder revealed that she has dated celebrities and been on magazine covers but she still sees herself as a struggling entrepreneur. "When I hang out with aspiring entrepreneurs in college, they say they want my life. But my best friends who know me best almost always say they would HATE my life," she wrote.

Ms Mah gave a sneak peek into her day-to-day life and revealed that she works all the time. "60 hours would be the minimum in any given week," she said. The serial entrepreneur also said that suffers from accomplishment dysmorphia. "I do not see my accomplishments in the esteemed way that many do," she wrote.

At the same time, the US-based entrepreneur revealed that she is struggling to come to terms with the death of her ex-boyfriend, who died by suicide. "I am having trouble bringing myself to date again for obvious reasons".

Ms Mah acknowledged that one of her biggest problems is comparing herself to others. She admitted that she surrounds herself with highly successful people who have accomplished far more than she has, and whose net worth is higher than hers.

"Comparison is the thief of joy. I've learned that the hard way. But with a little trick I picked up in therapy, I find that I am comparing myself to others less and less," she revealed.

According to her, the trick is to "think about the bigger picture". "When you see someone who seems to have a better lifestyle than you, think about the bigger picture. Would you truly trade places with them? If you compare yourself to someone else, you have to compare yourself to ALL of their struggles, too. And nobody is posting their insecurities and private challenges in the open, which is why I am!" she explained.

"When we remember to view those we envy with a wider lens, it's much easier to see that we are all flawed and come with our own sets of struggles and wins. Yours is likely no greater or worse than all of the rest of us," Ms Mah concluded.

Also Read | ''Bring My Daughter Back'': Mother Of Hyderabad Woman Who Was Found Starving On US Street

Now, her LinkedIn post has divided opinion on social media. While some applauded the entrepreneur for writing about her struggles, others said she failed to acknowledge her own privilege.

"I really appreciate these posts and reminders. Especially the issue around comparison, which is such a big deal for entrepreneurs," wrote one user. "I 100% agree, I think it takes a long time to be able to understand what makes you happy and enjoy the journey we are on," said another.

However, one user said, "You really typed all this and never once thought its a bad idea to post this? What even is a "accomplishment dysmorphia"? Do you have some common sense?"

"Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha how does one write something like this and completely fail to see the irony," commented another.

One user even wrote that "Attempt at humble bragging just ends up being victimhood narcissism," "Unhappy person still unhappy after wasting their life to become rich. What's new?" asked another.

Ms Mah's shared the post a few days back and since then it has accumulated hundreds of likes and comments.

Arjun Tendulkar Sets Internet On Fire With His Latest Six-Pack Abs Pic

IPL 2023 turned out to be really memorable for Arjun Tendulkar as the young pacer made his debut in the cash-rich league with Mumbai Indians. The son of legendary Sachin Tendulkar, Arjun had a mixed outing in IPL 2023 as he took three wickets in four matches but also leaked 92 runs. Currently, the 23-year-old pacer is playing for South Zone in the Deodhar Trophy 2023. Apart from hustling on the field, Arjun is also working on his fitness, which can be clearly seen in his Instagram story.

Taking to the social media platform, Arjun shared a shirtless mirror selfie, where he can be seen flaunting his six-pack abs. The trend of keeping a chiseled in the Indian cricket camp has been started by star batter Virat Kohli and many other players like KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, and now even Arjun have followed the footsteps of the former captain.

hvoh9r08

Earlier in June, Arjun was called-up by the BCCI for a 20-day camp at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. Arjun, who plays first-class cricket for Goa and made his IPL debut in the last edition for Mumbai Indians, was summoned for the camp, beginning in August.

Tendulkar has played three IPL games and didn't look out of place but asked the rationale behind his selection, the BCCI source said, "Arjun already has a Ranji Trophy century. A left-arm pacer who bowls between early and mid 130 kmph and bats left-handed. He brings in variety."

"It is not just about numbers but also about potential. He is 23 and has time to develop is what this (senior selection) committee thinks. Else, they wouldn't have picked him. Yes, he only has 12 wickets from seven first-class games but he has shown a certain degree of ability and coaches will work on that," the BCCI source added.

Talking about the Deodhar Trophy, the junior Tendulkar has been included in the South Zone, which is being led by batter Mayank Agarwal. He is a part of the South zone pace attack which comprises Karnataka new ball duo of Vidwath Kaverappa and Vyshak Vijaykumar along with V Koushik.

Arjun was Goa team's joint highest wicket-taker with eight scalps from seven games.

"How Middle Class Survives In Bengaluru": Driver's Overcharging Upsets Man

A Mumbai software engineer visiting Bengaluru booked an Ola auto from the City Station, but the journey turned awry when the driver cancelled the ride and demanded Rs 100 extra to take him to the destination.

Prashant Yadav, a senior frontend engineer at Razorpay, tweeted about his experience, which sparked a wave of anger among other such users.

"Got down at Banglore City station, booked an Ola auto, auto walla called me near him, cancelled the auto, and said sir Rs100 extra do what you see in Ola fir jaunga (pay me Rs 100 more than what the Ola fare is, and then I'll take you to your destination)," he wrote on Twitter.

"I wonder how the middle class survives in the city as they consider everyone wealthy," Mr Yadav added.

This tweet has opened a floodgate of comments from city dwellers and people who have been to the city. They talked about their experiences, which were somewhat comparable to Mr Yadav's.

"For the first time in Bangalore, a normal auto guy quoted Rs 1000 and was ready for the last price of 900. I booked an Ola auto, and this autowala was nice and dropped me at Rs 350, the same price as displayed on Ola. Some more cases, but not so nice. I have now stopped taking Auto," commented one user.

"They tend to do this a lot near stations; they take the metro if possible and book from there. They just want to scam you into thinking you're new. It has a lot less daily usage than many other cities," wrote another user.

"It's actually high time for people to consider taking bikes, cars, etc. if they are planning to live there even for a few years. It won't harm much, unlike how it's harming people daily, like in your case," commented a third user.

Elon Musk Mocks 'Barbie' Over Its Anti-Patriarchy Message

Barbie may be breaking records at the box office, but not everyone loved Greta Gerwig's movie. The movie has been criticized by many as being anti-man. Now, billionaire Elon Musk voiced his opinion about the film.

Tesla boss wrote, "If you take a shot every time Barbie says the word 'patriarchy', you will pass out before the movie ends."

Mr Musk was responding to a Barbenheimer meme that compared Twitter to Barbie and his new X name for his social network to Oppenheimer.

See the post here:

Indian TV actor Juhi Parmar also recently took a dig at the Barbie movie.

In an Instagram post, the 'Kumkum' star talked about how shocked she was by the film's 'inappropriate language and sexual connotations' and had to walk out after 10-15 minutes.

As per Juhi, a lot of parents followed suit as she accused the makers of misleading the audience.

"10 minutes into the movie, inappropriate language, sexual connotations, and I was anxiously running out of the theatre wondering what had I just exposed my child to.... The language and content in your film Barbie is inappropriate even for children 13 and above. I want to ask, why make a movie that is such an essential part of a child's life and then have content in it which is so inappropriate for them? Why did you break the perfect illusions of Barbie? I wish I could erase the memory of this film and continue believing in a picture-perfect Barbie for my child, who has a collection of yours and love you so much. I so wish - A concerned and disappointed parent," she wrote.

The Greta Gerwig-directed film stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling in the lead roles, as Barbie and Ken, respectively.

It was released in theatres on July 21.

Watch: US Residents Seen Hoarding Rice After India Announces Export Ban

India announced a ban on the export of non-Basmati white rice on Thursday, July 20. India is the world's leading rice exporter and, as per reports, the Ministry initiated this ban to regulate the prices of rice in the domestic market. Meanwhile, the ban would affect prices in the international market and make them rise due to a shortage in supply. This is especially true for countries in Africa, Southeast Asia, as well as our neighbours Pakistan and Bangladesh. While it is not clear that the US would directly be affected by the ban, there was a panic buying situation at the supermarkets in the country. A couple of videos that surfaced on social media showed how hordes of people are visiting the markets to purchase rice in bulk in fear of the rice export ban by India. Take a look:

In the clips posted on Twitter, we could see Indians living in the US in huge numbers at supermarkets. The video source was unclear but the clip was widely circulated. There was a lot of crowd accumulated in the rice section of the market. People were climbing up the supermarket shelves to buy bags of rice after the announcement of the export ban by India. "In the aftermath of the ban on rice exports by India, the situation in the USA," read the tweet. The clip showed a man lugging three bags of rice to his home.
Many people pointed out that there was no need to engage in panic buying and purchase rice in bulk quantities. However, the videos continued to be circulated and went viral.
Rice is not the only commodity that has been in the news. Recently, people in India had also been hoarding tomatoes after the prices skyrocketed to Rs 200 per kg in some parts of the country. In fact, a daughter requested her mother to bring 10 kgs of tomatoes while coming from Dubai. Click here to read more about the story.

Opinion: India's Perplexing Allegiance To The Commonwealth

The need to break free of the shackles of colonial legacy is an essential step for former colonies to assert their independence. Renowned post-colonial scholar Frantz Fanon once insightfully remarked, "Imperialism leaves behind germs of rot which we must clinically detect and remove from our land and from our minds as well". Fanon proposes that the residual effects of colonialism are not simply confined to the visible, tangible aspects of political or economic structures but are embedded deeply within the psyche of the colonised, affecting their identity and cultural expression. Therefore, it is not only a political imperative but also a psychological and cultural necessity to discard the colonial legacy in order to foster a genuinely independent and self-determined society.

This brings us to the Commonwealth. Despite being viewed by some as a benign institution promoting shared values and cooperation among member nations, its roots in British colonialism are undeniable. In its inception, the Commonwealth was an attempt to maintain ties with former British colonies and retain some influence over them. For nations still part of the Commonwealth, it can be argued that this continues a colonial legacy. Being part of the Commonwealth can inadvertently perpetuate the very colonial ties that nations seek to transcend, muddling the path to genuine post-colonial identity and independence.

While nations like Australia and New Zealand embraced the Commonwealth immediately upon decolonization, India, with its long and tumultuous history of colonization, exhibited an unexpected and arguably misplaced allegiance. India's decision to remain within the Commonwealth after gaining dominion status in 1947 and becoming a republic in 1950, post the 1949 London Declaration, remains a perplexing diplomatic conundrum. At a time when India should have been relentlessly asserting its newfound independence and sovereignty on the world stage, it ironically chose to retain symbolic ties with the very colonial power it had fought so ardently against. Under the London Declaration, India accepted the King as the symbol of the free association of its independent member nations and, as such, the Head of the Commonwealth (until India adopted its constitution). The acceptance of King George VI as a symbolic head, even if just in title, seemed to undermine the very essence of hard-won independence. The nation had just rid itself of the monarchy; to tacitly endorse a monarchical figurehead in any capacity was contradictory and almost self-deprecating.

It beckons the question: Why did India, after embarking on a path of self-governance and republicanism, feel the need to linger in the shadows of its colonial past? In this particular instance, the nation's leadership could be criticized for not taking a more assertive stand that resonated with its aspirations and the sacrifices of its freedom fighters.

In 1949, India's decision to join the Commonwealth may have seemed like a pragmatic move; tethered as it was to England's supply of defence materials and the financial incentives of foreign exchange and customs exemptions. Moreover, it offered a stage to rebuff Pakistan's disparaging narratives. However, in hindsight, relying on such vestiges of colonial dependency for defence, economic favours, or diplomatic clout feels like an anachronistic misstep. Such motivations are clearly outdated and redundant in our contemporary world.

The Commonwealth has been critiqued as an assemblage of nations bearing a colonial legacy, leading to debates about the relevance of India's membership in the 21st century. Given India's stature and its colonial history, questions arise concerning the necessity of India's continued membership, especially in the light of perceived discrepancies in treatment despite being the largest member.

Over the years, India's status quo approach to its membership of the Commonwealth has presented a disquieting inertia in its foreign policy. Despite having evolved into a global power with its own unique geostrategic interests and initiatives, the country inexplicably clings to a vestige of its colonial past. There is an undeniable paucity of substantive benefits that India garners from the Commonwealth. While the nation often excels in the Commonwealth Games, one must question if the occasional sports accolades truly justify the perpetuation of such an incongruous relationship.

The Commonwealth Games, though a platform for showcasing talent and fostering sportsmanship, cannot be the sole rationale for maintaining India's membership of the Commonwealth. Is it not perplexing that a nation that has surmounted numerous challenges and reached significant milestones in various fields should attach such considerable significance to a mere sporting event?

Furthermore, the Commonwealth's relative insignificance in contemporary geopolitics and its minimal influence in resolving global challenges, such as climate change, poverty, and regional conflicts, places the credibility and relevance of India's continued membership under rigorous scrutiny. It is as if India is shackled to an antiquated relic of a bygone era, one that only serves as a grim reminder of its colonial past rather than contributing constructively to its present and future aspirations.

The time has come for India to reassess and recalibrate its ties with the Commonwealth. It must ascertain whether this colonial artefact warrants preservation or if it is indeed an obsolete association that only perpetuates a historical anomaly far removed from India's progressive vision.

"X Is Live": Elon Musk Posts Photo Of Twitter Headquarters With New Logo

Twitter boss Elon Musk on Monday posted a photo of the company's headquarters adorned in the new logo - X. The unveiling comes shortly after he announced in a tweet that the social media company will change its logo soon. "If a good enough X logo is posted tonight, we'll make go live worldwide tomorrow," Mr Musk tweeted on Saturday. Roughly six months after he acquired Twitter for $44 billion, he merged the company into an entity called X Corp, saying Twitter is an accelerant to building an everything-app called X.

The photo of Twitter headquarters with the new logo was also posted by Linda Yaccarino, who took over as the company's CEO more than a month ago.

Mr Musk has also changed the display picture on his profile to the X logo. The photo was the way of the world's richest man to announce that "X is live".

"He was actually serious. Now I see why rich people buy already established companies instead of starting a new one," commented one user.

"Congrats, Elon. I'll miss the bird, but I guess this is a big step toward something you've been wanting to create for a long time. Hope all the pieces fall into place & it goes just as you envision," said another user.

Since Mr Musk bought Twitter for $44 billion last October, the platform's advertising business has partially collapsed as marketers soured on mass firings at the company, as well as on his management style.

In response, the billionaire SpaceX boss has moved toward introducing payments and commerce through the platform in a search for new revenue.

Bigg Boss OTT 2: Salman Slams Jiya For Mixing Soap In Elvish's Water

In the fifth week of Bigg Boss OTT 2, the competition intensified with wildcard contestants' entry. Last week, Krushna Abhishek and Bharti Singh hosted the Weekend Ka Vaar in Salman Khan's absence. However, Salman has now returned, and he's all set to confront the contestants who haven't displayed civil behaviour in the past week. One contestant who has drawn significant attention this week is Elvis Yadav, as he engaged in multiple arguments within the house. The burning question on everyone's mind is: Who will face Salman's wrath in the upcoming Weekend Ka Vaar? In a recent promo, Jiya Shankar appears to have caught Salman's attention and faced his stern scolding.

Referring to the sacred act of offering water to those in need, Salman Khan told Jiya, "Jiya, paani pilana sabse bade punya ka kaam hai, aur aapne us punya mein sabun dall diya (Jiya, offering water is considered the most sacred deed. And you added soap to that sacred act)." Jiya realised her mistake and admitted while smiling, "It was very stupid of me to do that." However, Salman was not convinced, saying, "Dekho battisi dikhake koi apologetic nahi hota (No one can sincerely apologise with a smile)."

He also criticised the other housemates for not making Jiya realise her error, stating, "Kisi ne inko samjhaya nahi ki ye galat baat hai (No one made her realise that it's wrong)." Salman pointed out that this action reflects Jiya's personality and demeanour.

Take a look at the promo below:

For context, during a task where Bigg Boss appointed Elvish Yadav the house's "dictator", Jiya Shankar, Avinash Sachdev, and Falaq Naazz refused to follow his orders. Jiya took things one step further by mixing hand wash into the glass of water when Elvish requested water. Later, she was seen laughing and discussing the incident with Avinash, referring to Elvish as "stupid". This behaviour received severe criticism from the audience, especially Elvish's fans, who condemned Jiya for her inhumane conduct and demanded appropriate action.

You can stream Bigg Boss OTT 2 24*7 on Jio Cinema.

Ananya's Ibiza Post Eclipsed By Comments On The Night Manager. IYKYK

Ananya Panday's European vacation with rumoured boyfriend Aditya Roy Kapur has been the talk of the town. The duo returned to Mumbai on Wednesday night and were snapped at the airport as they walked out separately. Now, Ananya Panday has treated us with her first photo dump from Spain. And, fans (including us) have only one question: “Where is Night Manager?” In case you live under the rock, The Night Manager is a crime thriller series streaming on Disney+ Hotstar. Aditya Roy Kapur plays the titular role in the web show.  The colour palette of Ananya Panday's Spain dump was loud and clear: blue. Along with stunning views of gorgeous landscapes and sea, Ananya also gave a glimpse of her chic wardrobe, which included her blue one-shoulder bikini sets. To complement her blue-hued snapshots, in the caption, Ananya Panday wrote, “Blue baby” and accompanied it with almost all blue emojis.

Ananya Panday's Spanish photo dump received much attention from fans as well as her BFF Suhana Khan. While Suhana wrote, “Woww bikini babe”, Ananya's mother Bhavana Pandey dropped a bunch of blue hearts in the comments.

However, fans were on a mission to spot (even a glimpse of) Aditya Roy Kapur in the images. One of them questioned, “Where is Night Manager?” “Is Night Manager taking photos,” asked another fan. “Now people try to zoom in on APs glasses to see who clicked these pictures,” read a comment.

Before this, several pictures and videos of Aditya Roy Kapur and Ananya Panday vacationing in Portugal also surfaced on the internet. ICYMI, take a look here:

Ananya Panday and Aditya Roy Kapur first trended last year when the Liger actress appeared on Karan Johar's chat show Koffee With Karan 7. During a conversation, Karan asked Ananya, "I saw at my party... What's brewing between you and Aditya Roy Kapoor?” To this, the actress had replied, "I find Aditya Roy Kapur hot."

On the work front, Ananya Panday will be seen in Dream Girl 2 next.
