Video Shows Protesters In France Warming Up Before Clash With Police

France has been witnessing violent protests after a 17-year-old boy Nahel was shot dead on Tuesday, June 27,  during a traffic police stop in the Paris suburb of Nanterre. As many as 24 police officers were injured and 40 cars were set alight on Tuesday during protests, as per the French authorities. Amid this, a video of protesters warming up before clashing with the police is making rounds on social media.

In the now-viral video, a group of men is seen walking and running around to prepare themselves for the protest. The short clip seems to be recorded by a person from their apartment window. "Rioters were seen earlier in the evening warming up before engaging in confrontation with the police," reads the caption of the video.

Watch the video below:

Since being shared, the video has amassed over 16,000 views.

"Warm-up is always important," said a user.

"That's super funny," commented another user.

As per a police source quoted by AFP, the coming nights are expected "to be the theatre of urban violence" with "actions targeted at the forces of order and the symbols of the state". A Paris suburb, Clamart, has already declared an overnight curfew, between 9:00 pm and 6:00 am from Thursday until next Monday.

The shooting of the teenager, who was in a Mercedes AMG with two other people at the time of the incident, was deemed "unjustifiable" by French President Emmanuel Macron. "Nothing, nothing justifies the death of a young man. I would like to express the emotion of the entire nation at the death of young Nael, and give his family of our solidarity and the affection of the nation," he said.

He added, "We need calm for justice to carry out its work. And we need calm everywhere because the situation we can't allow the situation to worsen."

Further, Mr Macron has convened his cabinet for a second crisis meeting in two days today, after the most widespread night of rioting related to the incident.

Rajasthan Royals Set To Offer Buttler Lucrative Multi-Year Deal: Report

Indian Premier League franchise Rajasthan Royals is all set to offer a lucrative multi-year contract to England's limited over skipper Jos Buttler, British newspaper 'Telegraph' reported on Thursday. With most of the IPL franchises owning part pr full stakes in various private T20 leagues, there is an imminent threat to game's current structure with fears that a lot of top international players might forego their central contracts to sign football club-like deal with a singular club (franchise) to appear in various tournaments.

According to 'The Telegraph', RR is trying to tie Buttler down to longer-term deal but the offer is yet to be formally tabled and it is also not clear if the cricketer will sign the deal.

"England's white-ball captain Jos Buttler is set to be offered a landmark four-year deal by his Indian premier League franchise Rajasthan Royals," the report said. "It is understood that the offer to Buttler is yet to be formally tabled, and its unclear whether the T20 World Cup winning captain intends to accept the deal." It is a multi-million-pound deal though the exact amount is unknown.

Buttler has proved to be a run-machine for RR, having scored five tons and 18 half-centuries in 71 matches since joining them in 2018.

Buttler also plays for Paarl Royals, which is also owned by Rajasthan Royals, in the SA20. RR also own Barbados Royals in Caribbean Premier League.

The proliferation of T20 league has impacted international cricket with franchises offering long-term contracts to top players.

In the past months, there have been talks of five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians offering a multi-year contract to England star pacer Jofra Archer, who could play just 5 games for them due to injuries since being bought for Rs 8 Crore in 2022 auction.

If a player signs a long-term contract, then the international cricket boards, in future, might need to seek permission from the private franchises to get their services for national duty. PTI ATK KHS KHS

New Vehicles Running Fully On Ethanol To Be Launched In August: Minister

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Thursday said that new vehicles running 100 per cent on ethanol will be launched in August.

In an interview to ANI, Mr Gadkari said, "From August, I will be launching vehicles running 100 per cent on Ethanol. Bajaj, TVS and Hero have manufactured motorcycles running 100 per cent on Ethanol."

He said that just like Toyota company's Camry car, which runs on 60 per cent petrol and 40 per cent on electricity, will now be bringing vehicles that run on 60 per cent ethanol and 40 per cent electricity.

"Like Toyota company's Camry car which runs on 60 per cent petrol and 40 per cent electricity, through Toyota we will also be launching vehicles which run on 60 per cent on ethanol and 40 per cent on electricity," he added.

Mr Gadkari said that this initiative will be a revolution in the country.

"This will be a revolutionary initiative because it will be import-substitute, cost-effective, pollution-free and indigenous. This is prepared by farmers because now ethanol is made from sugarcane juice," the Union Minister said.

Talking about development works in the country, Mr Gadkari asserted that he has always done work beyond politics and BJP has taught him to do justice to all.

"I make sure that everyone's work gets done when it's important. I have always done that even beyond politics. That is what the BJP has taught us: to do justice to all, and that is what makes us strong. Politics and development should not be mixed up. I am a Karyakarta of the BJP, but the government belongs to the people of the country. That is why Prime Minister Modi said, Sabka Saath Sabka Viswas Sabka Prayas," Mr Gadkari said.

He said road development has been undertaken in all states beyond politics. Nitin Gadkari said that Chief Ministers from South or other states where BJP doesn't have a state government also come to meet him to discuss developmental projects and he has undertaken most of them.

"The works are being undertaken in all states beyond politics. Mamata Ji from Bengal recently came to meet me, and we discussed some projects. Chief Ministers and other officials from southern states also come to meet me and I hold meetings with all of them, and discuss projects to be undertaken there. It doesn't make us look bad. It makes our government look strong," the Union Minister said.

He said, "Roads go through all states. One state may be governed by Congress another by BJP. That doesn't mean I should shut down the road development works. Roads are for the people of India. And I'm not just a BJP minister but a minister of the Government of India. And being in service for the country's people is my primary duty and responsibility. I will work for those who voted us to power. I will also work for those who didn't give us the mandate and I will also do work for those who criticize us. Everyone's work should be done. This is Bharatiya Janata Party's culture and we work based on that."

The BJP veteran said that in his 9 years in office, he had done what is good for the people without thought of politics.

"I can assure you that in my 9 years in office, I have not mixed political thoughts with governance. The roads of our country are our assets and the people who travel on these roads are our family. They deserve good roads and proper development. That is our duty, and that is what our politics is intended for," he said.

Mr Gadkari also slammed the opposition for attacking Veer Savarkar and the syllabus revamp. He said that Savarkar was a revolutionary and we cannot forget the sacrifices and work he has done for the nation. "It is not right to deny all that he has done. The party which brought Emergency and kept many revolutionaries locked up in jail does not deserve to comment," he said.

Mr Gadkari also claimed that the BJP will be sweeping the upcoming legislative elections in states as well as the general elections in 2024.

Nitin Gadkari is called the Highwayman of India due to the transformational change he has brought in the country's infrastructure and connectivity in the last nine years as minister of road transport and highways.

Mr Gadkari comes from the city of Nagpur where he started his political career as a Karyakarta of Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad.

He is also credited for being the man behind the first ever expressway (Mumbai-Pune) by bringing new technologies into the country and helping private companies to ensure quality work in creating modern infrastructure.

Mr Gadkari is also a strong advocate of sustainable development and his eco-friendly initiatives in road construction have led to the use of garbage in road construction as a raw material.

Before taking charge as union minister, Gadkari donned several hats in the organisation as well as governance and has served as BJP national president from 2009 to 2013 and PWD Minister from 1995-1999 in Maharashtra.

Elderly Woman Put Into Chokehold As Burglary Suspect Pulls Her Into Home

A man in Houston, Texas, was captured on doorbell camera putting an elderly woman into a chokehold during a robbery. The suspect, identified as 61-year-old Melvin Walker by Houston Police, approached the 86-year-old woman at around 9am on Monday while she was watering the plants. The police posted the footage showing the front door area of a home in the 4800 block of Robertson Street on its Twitter handle. It later posted an update saying the suspect is in custody and will be charged in connection with the assault.

Walker looks toward the street before quickly closing in on the woman and wrapping his arms around her neck.

She tried to free herself from the chokehold but Walker takes her inside the house forcibly. Police said the woman was hospitalised for her injuries.

"The suspect is in custody and will be charged in yesterday's assault. We thank the community for helping us ID him," the Houston Police said in a tweet on Wednesday.

New York Post said it is not clear what Walker stole from the woman's house. He was spotted escaping towards the street with a blue towel over his head.

The outlet also cited Harrison County Sheriff's Office to say that the suspect was arrested the same day and charged with evading arrest, unauthorised use of motor vehicle and possession of a weapon.

Later, charges of burglary and aggravated robbery were also added.

ABC News said Walker was inside the home till 11.45am.

The police also said that he was involved in multiple crimes across two days, but did not release the details of his other acts.

Ravi Kishan's Daughter Joins Defence Forces Under Agnipath Scheme

Ishita Shukla, the daughter of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Ravi Kishan, has joined the defence forces under the Agnipath scheme. It was announced by the central government in June last year to bring a change in the recruitment process of the armed forces. The scheme aims to enrol youth who will be called 'Agniveers' for a service duration of four years. Ravi Kishan has been sharing and thanking people who are posting the news about his daughter on Twitter.

The MP's daughter is 21 years old.

Twitter users congratulated Ravi Kishan and praised Ishita for choosing a different career path despite being the daughter of a celebrity.

"On one hand, many leaders of the country want to make their children leaders and make their future in the politics, on the other, respectable @OfcRavikishann ji's daughter will serve the country truly by joining the country's army, I salute such a father," commented one user.

"One more achievement has been added to the good fortune of Gorakhpur. Hearty congratulations to Ishita Shukla, daughter of Gorakhpur's popular MP Shri @ravikishann ji, on becoming 'Female Agniveer'! Now she will join Defence Force as a soldier under Agnipath Scheme," said another.

The Agnipath Scheme was launched by the government on June 14, 2022. After initial protests and opposition, the Centre on June 16, 2022, extended the age limit for recruitments via Agnipath Scheme to 23 years from 21 years.

Earlier this month, the first batch of Agniveers of the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAKLI) were attested in a ceremony in Srinagar.

"We Rejected...": Sehwag On Virat Lifting Sachin On Shoulders After WC Win

After 2011, India will again be hosting the ODI World Cup starting on October 5. The Rohit Sharma-led hosts will start their campaign against Australia on October 8 in Chennai and will face Pakistan on October 15. The tournament is a great chance for India to end its title drought in ICC events. Since 2013, the Indian cricket team has not won any ICC event. For stars like Rohit, Virat Kohli and others, the 2023 World Cup presents a great opportunity to emulate what the MS Dhoni-led India achieved at home at the 2011 edition by winning the marquee event. Kohli was part of that campaign and celebrated the triumph in a unique fashion as he lifted Sachin Tendulkar on his shoulders.

On the famous visual of Virat Kohli lifting Sachin Tendulkar on his shoulders and taking him around the Wankhede Stadium, Sehwag gave an interesting reason.

"Because we rejected, Sachin was so heavy, we couldn't lift him. We were old. We have shoulder injuries and MS had knee problems, somebody else had other problems. We gave the burden to the youngsters. You go and pick up Sachin Tendulkar and give him a round. That's why it was Virat Kohli," Sehwag said with a smile on his face at the ICC 2023 World Cup fixture event on Tuesday.

The Indian team led by Rohit Sharma will be the most travelled team among top contenders in the upcoming ODI World Cup, covering a distance of approximately 8400 km while crisscrossing nine cities for nine league games in 34 days.

In case India reaches semi-final and then the final, the distance covered would be close to 9700 km for 11 games in 42 days.

While 8400 kms in 34 days might not seem a lot, considering that Indian players will finish their games around 11 pm and will have a flight to catch every third day, it indeed becomes very tiresome after gruelling 100 over games.

Celebrity Chef John Mountain Bans Vegans From His Restaurant

The vegan diet is one of the fastest-spreading diet trends that the world is leaning towards. Whether it's health factors or environmental reasons, veganism is gaining a lot of popularity. Once again the topic has kept the internet abuzz. This after a top British chef, John Mountain, decided to ban all people, who follow veganism, from his restaurant Fyre. Announcing the news through his restaurant's Instagram page, the chef cited “mental health reasons” to be the basis of this drastic decision. However, in his conversation with Australia's PerthNow, chef John claimed that this “ban was prompted by a fiery complaint by a vegan customer that became personal.” But soon after he decided to ban vegans, Chef John reportedly implemented a booking fee.

While unveiling his drastic decision to the world, Fyre wrote in a post, “Sadly all vegans are now banned from Fyre (for mental health reasons). We thank you for your understanding.” The post was shared with the caption, “Yep. I'm done” and hashtags “vegan, not, please go elsewhere, vegan free zone, and no more vegans.”

The decision to ban vegans was a result of John Mountain's encounter with a young girl at his restaurant. In his conversation with the Australian portal, Chef John revealed that the girl reached out to him questioning the vegan options in his restaurant. PerthNow quoted John Mountain as saying, “It was my only shortfall… I said I would accommodate her, I said we had gnocchi, vegetables… and that was that.” He continued that on the same day, his restaurant was catering a private dinner party, and because of this he completely forgot about that vegan girl. The next day that girl reportedly complained about the lack of vegan food through a Facebook message.

She wrote, “My only option was the vegetable dish… it was okay but not that filling… and I was shocked to see it was $32. I think it's incredibly important nowadays that restaurants can accommodate everyone and to not be able to have actual plant-based meals shows your shortcomings as a chef.” She continued by claiming that she wishes to see some improvement in his menu. She added that “I have lived in Connolly for quite some time and have seen many restaurants come and go from that building and none of them last.” Chef John said that his restaurant was swamped under one-star Google reviews overnight. However, later it picked up to 4.3 stars.

Terrifying Video Shows Shark Biting Man's Hand And Dragging Him Into Water

A video has captured the terrifying moment when a shark bit a fisherman and pulled him into the water in Florida's Everglades National Park. The incident happened on Friday when the man leaned over the side of the boat to wash his hands.

A video of the attack shared on social media shows a bull shark leaping out of the water to bite the fisherman's hand. The shark then drags the man off the boat into the water, following which his fellow fishermen rush to pull him back on the boat.

The incident was caught on camera by another man in the boat named Michael who shared the video on Instagram and said it was one of the "scariest days" he ever had.

''After releasing a snook elarjan washed his hands in the water and was immediately bit by a large bull shark. There was no chum or blood in the water and the sharks were unprovoked. The sharks are no joke in the Everglades and the warnings about keeping your hands out of the water are not an exaggeration. Please take this as a lesson and keep your hands out of the water because this could have been prevented,'' he wrote in the caption.

Watch the video here:

After the incident, the man was airlifted to Jackson South Medical Center. Park rangers and EMTs who treated the man said his injuries were consistent with a shark bite. However, details on his hand injury or current condition have not been released.

"While shark bites are extremely uncommon in Everglades National Park, we always recommend visitors take caution around park wildlife," the National Park Service said. Tourists are also reminded to watch out for alligators, crocodiles, venomous snakes, and other predators common to the area.

Asked About PM Modi's Chaiyya Chaiyya Welcome At White House SRK Said This

On Prime Minister Narendra Modi's first official state visit to the United States of America and the White House, the South Asian cappella group Penn Masala put up a performance involving various Indian songs. One of the songs performed was Shah Rukh Khan's iconic Chaiyya Chaiyya from the 1998 Mani Ratnam film Dil Se. So, it came as no surprise that during an Ask Me Anything session on Twitter on Tuesday, one of SRK's fans mentioned the same and asked the actor, “Sir Chaiyya  Chaiyya chants welcomed Modi Ji in the US...What do you wanna say about this?” To this, the superstar said, “Wish I was there to dance to it…but they wouldn't allow a train inside I guess?” For context, the song features SRK, Malaika Arora, and a group of dancers matching steps on a moving train and continues to remain one of the most important visuals in Bollywood pop culture history.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan's AMA session with fans was conducted to mark a special milestone – 31 years of SRK as a movie star. The actor's maiden film Deewana celebrated 31 years since its release on June 25 and needless to say, the actor received overwhelming support and love from his fans and followers. “Wow just realised it's 31 yrs to the day when Deewana hit the screens. It's been quite a ride, mostly a good one. Thanks all and we can do 31 minutes of #AskSRK?” SRK wrote.

That's not all. SRK also revealed an acting ritual he swears by. A fan asked, “One thing as an actor which you have been following consistently from the last 31 years?? Can be a process/tradition/anything…”

To this, the superstar said, “I write a whole backstory and ideology of the character. Sometimes share it with the director or just keep it to myself. It could be a poem or a whole story.”

Another fan shared a clip of SRK's song Koi Na Koi Chahiye from Deewana, in which he is seen riding a bike and singing. A fan asked the actor, “Sir, how do you feel when you watch this epic entry of yourself? It's been 31 years and it still gives us chills [fire emoji] #AskSRK.” The star replied, “Should have worn a helmet!”

Shah Rukh Khan also ended the AMA session on an extremely endearing note. He said, “Now going to discuss football with lil one. Suddenly have got time with him & I cannot miss that. Love u all and here's to another 31 years at the movies. Love u all for #AskSRK.”

On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan will be seen next in Jawaan with Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupati and Priyamani.

Cheteshwar Pujara's Short Message After Test Snub Leaves Twitter Emotional

Cheteshwar Pujara took to Twitter to post a video of his batting along with a short message just a day after he was dropped from the India's Test squad for the upcoming tour of West Indies. The exclusion of Pujara prompted a massive discussion among fans and experts with several of them criticising the selectors for singling out the veteran for the failures of Indian batters in the WTC final. Pujara did not have a good outing in the match. In the post he shared on social media, the right-handed batter could be seen playing a number of shots at the crease. He added just two emojis along with his Twitter post.

Earlier, legendary India opener Sunil Gavaskar had his say about Pujara's exclusion from the side.

"Why has he been dropped? Why has he been made the scapegoat for our batting failures. He has been a loyal servant of India cricket. A loyal and quiet servant. A loyal and quiet achiever. But because he does not have millions of followers on platforms who will make a noise in case he gets dropped, you drop him. That is something beyond understanding. What is the criteria of dropping him and keeping the others who failed? I do not know because nowadays, there is no media interaction with the selection committee chairman," Gavaskar said in an interaction with Sports Today.

"He has been playing country cricket. So, he has played a lot of red-call cricket and he knows what it is about. Today, people can play till they are 39-40 years old and as long as you are producing runs, I do not think age should be a factor. Apart from (Ajinkya) Rahane, the batting completely failed. Why Pujara has been made the fall guy is something the selectors will have to explain," he added.

"Just Because He Doesn't Play IPL...": Jaffer's No-Nonsense Selection Take

India's Test and ODI squad selection for the West Indies tour saw a number of youngsters being given the opportunity. But, seeing a few 'deserved candidates' being snubbed, a number of former cricketers have expressed their displeasure on social media. The likes of Sarfaraz Khan, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Priyank Panchal, etc., were all overlooked as the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikward earned the call-up for the tour. Former India batter Wasim Jaffer, giving his two cents on the squads selection, asked the BCCI selection committee some critical questions.

Jaffer, in a tweet, admitted being baffled over the selection of 4 opening batters for the Test squad. He feels Sarfaraz should've earned the nod instead, being a middle-order batter.

The former India Test batter also questioned the absence of Easwaran and Panchal despite the consistent performances they have been showing in First Class cricket for a long period of time. Jaffer tweeted:

My two cents on India's WI tour squads:

1. What's the need of four openers? Instead they could have picked Sarfaraz as extra middle order bat to honour his consistent domestic performances.

2. Easwaran and Panchal have also been doing hard yards in Ranji and India A, knocking on Test doors for a long time. Just because they don't play IPL, is it a case of out of sight out of mind? How did Ruturaj jump the queue?

3. Surprised to see Shami rested that too after a month long break. I feel he's the type of bowler that the more he bowls the better/fitter and in form he gets.

India's squad selection for West Indies Tests and ODIs has once again put the selectors under scrutiny.

Sobhita Dhulipala opened her heart out during a recent interview with The Indian Express. Sobhita recalled her audition days, before she stepped into movies and revealed that she was on the receiving end of brutal criticism for her appearance and she told The Indian Express, "When you are starting out, everything is a battle. I am not from the movies. I remember in my ad auditions I was told many times that I am not gori (fair) enough. There were these things which you see at ad level, where I was told to my face that I am not pretty enough. Not that I was (dejected)."

Sobhita added how she braved those comments and added during the interview, "I started thinking how I can be creative, still be a part of this industry because I am really passionate about it and work for it every single day. That's when you start thinking out of the box, instead of waiting for a brilliant successful commercial filmmaker to discover you. What is in my control is to go for auditions, give my 100 percent."

Watch: England Youngster Takes Flying One-Handed Catch Stuns Home Crowd

Birmingham Bears all-rounder Jacob Bethell caugh everyone's attention after he took a diving one-handed catch during a T20 Blast fixture against Yorkshire. Bethell, who captained England during their Test of Australia earlier this year, was applauded for his effort by the Yorkshire fans, who were sitting in the stands behind long-on. The incident happened on the 2nd ball of 19th over of Yorkshire chase when Jordan Thompson tried to hit a boundary off Dan Mousley's delivery. However, Bethell had other ideas as he made a diving leap while running towards his left, before pouching the ball with one hand.

"Jacob Bethell. Wow. Even the home crowd applauded!," the Bears captioned the video on Twitter.

Chasing a target of 181, Yorkshire's hopes of quarter-final qualification took another hit as they lost the match by four runs.

27 off the last over with two wickets in hand, David Wiese hit Henry Brookes for three sixes, and the target was 12 off two balls.

However, Brookes maintained his composure, leaving Yorkshire on 176/8.

Earlier, Birmingham posted 180-7 thanks to opener Rob Yates' 66 off 51 balls.

Bears were in for a huge total, but Dom Bess, David Wiese and Matthew Revis pegged them back.

Bess returned an excellent 1-16 from three overs of off-spin, while Wiese claimed 1-26 from four overs of seam and also changed his pace expertly. Meanwhile, Revis was the pick of the bowlers with his 2/36.

Watch: Chhetri Pounces On Pak Goalkeeper's Costly Error To Begin Goal Rush

On a night when he could become the second-highest Asian goal-scorer in international football, India captain Sunil Chhetri delivered the goods, scoring a hattrick in India's 4-0 win over Pakistan in the SAFF Championship in Bengaluru. Ali Daei of Iran holds the record with 109 goals from 149 matches. Chhetri has 90 goals to his name. Chhetri led the line as India outclassed and hammered their neighbours in front of more than 22,000 fans at Sri Kanteerava Stadium, where he also plays his club football.

In the 10th minute of the match, Chhetri pounced on Pakistan's goalkeeper Saqib Hanif's horror clearance to open the scoring.

Six minutes later, he doubled the lead through a penalty and at 2-0.

India pressed for more goals in the first half, but they could not add to the tally as the Pakistan defence held their own. India too missed a couple of chances, though not easy, to pile pressure on their rivals.

But that did not snap India's momentum in the second half. The Indian captain won a penalty after he was bundled onto the ground by an opposition player.

He stepped up and once again sent Hanif the wrong way to make it 3-0 for India.

With less than 10 minutes left on the clock, Udanta Singh made the most of Anwar Ali's line-breaking long ball to make it 4-0 for the Blue Tigers.

India's win had a slightly jarring note to it as head coach Igor Stimac had to vacate the dugout after receiving a red card.

Watch: Ponting Shuts Down Pietersen With Sharp Response To Joe Root Praise

The opening Ashes encounter between Australia and England still remains wide open at Edgbaston, with both teams still within the shout to win the contest. After Australia bowled out England for 273 in the second innings, setting themselves a 281-run target to chase, the hosts picked up three wickets before the end of play on Day 4 to pull themselves back. With the bat, one of the batters who left a lasting impression was Joe Root. Though he only made 40, the manner in which he played seemed to have really rattled the Australian players.

In a chat with Ricky Ponting, even former England captain Kevin Pietersen went ga-ga over Root's performance, saying how he 'owned the game'. However, Ponting wasn't keen to see Pietersen sing praises for Root, and he shut him down on live camera.

"Joe Root owned the game. He ran the game, he was pure quality and he just owned that space, with (Australia) scratching their heads going 'what do we do?'" Pietersen said.

In reponse, Ponting quipped: "Well, he's out now. He got 40". Here's the video:

Late on Monday, Broad struck twice before Australia ended the fourth day of the first Test on 107-3, needing a further 174 runs to reach the 281 they require for victory on Tuesday's final day.

The target is one run fewer than Australia were set in a stunning finale at the Birmingham ground 18 years ago, when England prevailed by just two runs en route to a 2-1 series triumph.

Broad wants England to be involved in an Ashes triumph that equals the celebrated 2005 campaign even though the veteran seamer is hoping to avoid a repeat of that dramatic finale at Edgbaston.

US Couple's Dog First Attacked By Pit Bulls Then Stabbed By Their Owner

The police in New York are looking for a man who stabbed a couple's dog in Central Park. The attack took place at 8.30pm (local time) inside the park at East 106th Street and Fifth Avenue, according to ABC7. It quoted the police as saying that a 51-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman were walking their two dogs who were on a leash. One of the dogs was a Chihuahua, while the other one was a pit bull-German Shepherd mix.

The man was also in the park with his three dogs - all pit butt mixes - who were off leash. Witnesses who were present in the park said the man's dogs started biting the couple's dogs and there was an argument with the woman while trying to separate the pack.

Suddenly, the man took out a switchblade and repeated stabbed Eli, according to ABC7 report.

"There was a dog on the ground that was dead, a lot of blood around it, a guy was trying to do something - and three other pit bulls without leashes...three pit bulls around him," the outlet quoted an eyewitness as saying.

Eli was rushed to an animal hospital, but could not be saved.

Its owner recorded the man walking away, he was wearing an orange shirt, orange hat and blue jeans. The police said he left the scene after argument.

Speaking to New York Post, Eli's owner said the matter escalated after he confronted the man.

"I was trying to correct him and say it's not OK, your dog just tried to bite my dog," Brian Robert said. "And then he just wanted to be a tough guy and he started trying to talk to me like he's my dad. I know the guy, I've spoken to him. But his dogs never tried to bite my dog."

The couple's other dog was unharmed. The police are now searching the area as part of their investigation.

Man With Vande Bharat Ticket Travels In Tejas: "Pathetic Washrooms"

A man has claimed that his dream of travelling in the luxurious Vande Bharat train was shattered when a different train, with substandard services, arrived. The man named Siddharth Pandey shared his experience on Twitter, tagging Indian Railways and minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. Mr Pandey also shared photos and videos from inside the train, showing clogged toilet and a different ambience than Vande Bharat. As the tweet, posted earlier this month, started gaining traction, Mr Pandey received a reply from Railway Seva.

In his tweet, the user wrote, "Was excited to board 1 tym on Vande Bharat. But shocked to see another train in the name of Vande Bharat. Washrooms are pathetic and services are worst. Still charged fare as per actual Vande Bharat."

His tweet said the incident occurred on June 10 when he was scheduled to board the Vande Bharat Express with train number 22439. The train operated between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi.

But, instead of the actual train, Mr Pandey said Tejas Express arrived and, which had clogged toilets and "worst" services.

His tweet gained a lot of attention and soon began a conversation on Twitter, with some users sharing their own experiences.

"Some passengers are at fault, they throw wrappers etc, which leads to clogging inside the train toilet," commented one user. "Sometimes due to a technical error or some maintenance issues, Vande Bharat rake is not deemed fit for running for that Day.  That's why the extra Tejas take is kept at NDLS to cater to such emergencies. Since Vande Bharat is a train set, the whole rake is deemed unfit for run," said another.

One user remarked that it doesn't look like the Vande Bharat train. "Yes, it was not. We booked Vande bharat but they changed the train to Tejas," Mr Pandey said while responding to him.

"This has been happening often in railways. They've been doing this with Humsafar as well, they charge more than normal 3AC as Humsafar charges and then provide normal LHB 3AC coaches. This is proper scam and no one talks about it," another user commented.

Railway Seva, the official Twitter handle dedicated to providing help to railway passengers, asked for details from Mr Pandey, and later informed in a tweet that they escalated the issue to "concerned official" for necessary action.
