"Doesn't Mean Anything...": Rohit On KL Rahul's Removal As Vice-Captain

India opening batter KL Rahul has been under the scanner for his low returns with the bat in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. Rahul, who was named vice captain for the first two Tests, has scored just 38 runs in three innings so far. Several former and current players have questioned his place in the team, and have vouched for the inclusion of in-form youngster Shubman Gill. During the pre-match press conference, India captain Rohit Sharma was asked about Rahul being stripped from vice-captaincy for the last two Tests.

Responding to the querry, Rohit said: "All 17 players in the team has a chance. The team will back those who are talented. Stripping vice-captaincy doesn't mean anything big. He was made the vice captain because maybe there was not many experienced players at that time. It is not a big thing," Rohit said on the eve of the third Test.

India are expected to enhance their aura of invincibility at home with another series win while a down and out Australia will need nothing less than a monumental effort to bounce back in the third Test, beginning in Indore Wednesday.

India have already secured the Border-Gavaskar trophy and they will now be playing for a record-extending 16th straight series win at home and a guaranteed spot in the World Test Championship final in June.

India Squad for 3rd and 4th Tests: Rohit Sharma (c), KL Rahul (vc), Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KS Bharat, Ishan Kishan, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Umesh Yadav, Suryakumar Yadav, Jaydev Unadkat.

Viral Video: Man Takes His SUV Under A Waterfall And It Starts Leaking

A digital creator had an unpleasant experience with his SUV when he decided to take it under a waterfall on a mountainous path. Arun Panwar shared a video on his Instagram account showing how the sunroof of his Mahindra Scorpio N leaked with water seeping inside the car.

In the video, the man says that he came across a waterfall while travelling in the hills. The man decided to wash his car under the waterfall. The driver closes the sunroof before parking the SUV under the waterfall.

The minute he parked his car, the water leaked into the car through the sunroof and the speakers. The driver can be heard saying, "Yeh mazaak hai bhai (This is a joke)."

"Arrey, yeh kya chal raha hai? (What is happening?)," the man added.

He quickly moves his car away from the waterfall and checks again to see if the sunroof was closed. The water seeped inside the car and damaged the interior of the car.

Check out the video here:

The video was posted 1 day ago and so far it has amassed 4.7 million views on Instagram. Shocked by the video, a user commented, "That's why I didn't buy Mahindra cars... (I am happy with my cycle)."

"I have washed my jeep meridian many times like this...but this never happen with my jeep," another user wrote.

"I think he deliberately left his sunroof slightly open. I tried it too with Scorpio N with not even a drop of leakage," the third user wrote.

"Brother, no sunroof in the world is waterproof, they have small drainage holes on both left and right, and using too many sunroofs or we can say using sunroofs in India may clog the drainage holes due to which water starts entering the vehicle, unclog that drainage holes and you are good to go," the fourth user wrote.

The Scorpio-N was launched in June last year and has five variants including Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8 and Z8L.

Passenger Flying Business Class Shocked To Get ONE Banana For In-Flight Meal

The recent whirlwind of reports on disappointing airline foods has left us shocked. We were still grappling with the news of an Air India passenger finding insect in his meal, shortly after chef Sanjeev Kapoor condemned the airline for unappetising food, when this news popped up. A business class passenger was served just one banana in his in-flight meal. The chopsticks served along with the banana completed the look of the meal but does it even make sense to eat banana with chopsticks?

The man named Kris Chari was travelling in an over 7-hours Japanese airline flight from Indonesia to Tokyo, Japan. He pre-ordered VGML (vegan) option from the pre-lunch snack menu but little did he know that it would consist of just a banana.

(Also Read: Man Allegedly Finds Cockroach In Vistara Flight Meal; Airline Says, "It's Roasted Ginger")

Narrating the incident on Flyertalk forum, Kris Chari said, "Before takeoff today my flight attendant confirmed that I ordered VGML and that my breakfast was a banana, by which I mistakenly assumed she meant that breakfast included a banana. When she served the banana after takeoff I thought it was just an underwhelming appetizer, but it was in fact the entire meal service! It was cute of the crew to serve the banana with chopsticks, though!"

The non-vegan snack option in the airline menu consisted of seared tuna with a Moroccan-style eggplant salad, two kinds of cheese with orange salsa, paired with a baguette. Left with just a banana, Kris Chari made it a point to still enjoy his meal. "It was a really good banana-one of the best I've had recently-but it still seems more appropriate as a snack. Is catering out of CGK typically this underwhelming?" he questioned.

Kris Chari also informed that the lunch that was served later had barely seasoned spaghetti. "My meals on other JL flights (part of this itinerary) were also bad, but nothing was quite as insubstantial as this (banana)."

Funny or disappointing? What do you think of this vegan in-flight meal?

Exclusive: "He And Maybe She" - Air India CEO's Big Hint On Mascot

The Air India's iconic Maharajah mascot is here to stay, but he may soon find a partner, CEO Campbell Wilson hinted today.

In an exclusive interview to NDTV, Mr Wilson said Air India aircraft are set for a design makeover. However, he said, the new look will not be a break from the airline's rich legacy. "Air India has 90 years of heritage. We want to carry elements of that forward. "Equally, we need to look at the future. And we do need to demonstrate that we are not just rooted in the past, that we are also aspiring towards something in the future," he said.

In redesigning the airline, views of the Vistara team will also be respected, he said. "They have built a very good airline over the past eight years. And so I think there's more than 5,000 people there that have an interest in how the new airline is represented. So I think this is really an opportunity to think freshly, while respecting."

Vistara airlines is set for a merger with the Tata-owned Air India by March 2024.

Asked if the mustachioed and turbaned Maharajah still will find a place in Air India's grand revamp, Mr Wilson said, "The Maharajah will certainly be part of our plans in the new look. He and may be a she will be part of the plans."

On the airline's plans for designing the Airbus 350 aircraft it is set to induct under a historic deal, CEO Wilson replied, "Wait and see."

Earlier this month, the Air India, which was recently taken over the by Tata, announced multi-billion dollar deals with France's Airbus and American plane-maker Boeing to buy 470 passenger aircraft. The deals are the largest shopping event in commercial aviation history.

Speaking about the deals, Mr Wilson said they are the "most complex ever". He said there are "difficult points in the negotiation process", but added that the talks are proceeding in "good spirit".

The Air India CEO also spoke about the infamous Pee-Gate incident, in which a drunk passenger urinated on an elderly woman in the business class of a New York-Delhi Air India flight on November 26.

Mr Wilson said airline crew often suffer physical and verbal abuse on duty. "Not a day goes by without us receiving reports about passenger behaviour. There is a degradation of passenger behaviour onboard aircraft and a standard of decorum is required," he said.

"Not A Day Goes By...": Air India CEO To NDTV On Pee-Gate, Aftermath

Air India CEO Campbell Wilson today admitted that the airlines' could have reacted better to the incident of a drunk flyer urinating on an elderly passenger.

"There are things that we didn't do well. We have learnt lessons," Air India CEO told NDTV in an exclusive interview.

On a New York-Delhi Air India flight on November 26, Shankar Mishra allegedly unzipped his pants and urinated on an elderly woman in the business class. He later begged the woman not to report him to the police, saying it would impact his wife and child.

Air India filed a police complaint weeks after the incident and said as there was "no further flare-up or confrontation", and "respecting the perceived wishes of the female passenger, the crew elected not to summon law enforcement upon landing. It banned Mishra from flying for 30 days, triggering outrage by social media users who said it was not enough.

Shankar Mishra was arrested by the Delhi Police on Friday, six weeks after the incident.

Mr Wilson told NDTV that the airlines has realised the importance of reporting incidents.

"One of the key things is reporting incidents that happen. Perhaps there was a culture before where things we tried to resolve internally rather than reporting. Perhaps," Mr Wilson said.

Elaborating on the steps that the airlines has taken after the November incident, Mr Wilson said that they have reviewed their alcohol policy and also briefed their staff about how to deal with drunk passengers.

He also added that Air India is now investing more in technology. He said that in most cases, the airlines crew is at the receiving end when a drunk passenger misbehaves.

"In the vast majority of cases, the people that suffer the abuse, be verbal, sometimes physical, are our crew. Not a day goes by, without us receiving some report from from crew on behavior on board the aircraft," Mr Wilson said.

Watch: KL Rahul Visits Temple With Wife Athiya Shetty Ahead Of Indore Test

It has not been a good couple of months for KL Rahul who has been struggling for form. In the first two Test matches against Australia, the right-handed batsman failed to score big and since then, several ex-cricketers and experts have been asking for Shubman Gill to replace him as the opening partner of skipper Rohit Sharma. In the three innings that Rahul has played till now, he has not gone past the 25 run-mark even once. On Sunday, he visited Ujjain's well-known Mahakaleshwar Temple along with his wife Athiya Shetty. In a video which was released on social media, the two of them could be seen offering prayers in the temple along with other devotees in the temple who is quite famous in India.

Former India coach Ravi Shastri hinted that Shubman Gill should replace KL Rahul in the remaining two Tests of the Border Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. There has been a lot of talk around India vice-captain Rahul's prolonged lean patch.

With the young Gill waiting in the wings despite his stellar run across formats, the pressure is increasing on Rahul. "The team management know his (Rahul's) form, they know his mental state. They know how they should be watching someone like Gill," Shastri said on the ICC Review podcast.

"I always had the belief (to) never appoint a vice-captain for India. I would rather go with by best XI, and if captain has to leave the field, you'd zero in on a player that can take over at the time, simply because you don't need to create complications." Rahul, who was the designated vice-captain for the first two Tests of the Border Gavaskar Trophy, has retained his place for the final two games but is no longer Rohit Sharma's deputy.

"If vice-captain doesn't perform, someone can take his place; at least the tag is not there. I'm being blunt and brutal, I never like vice-captain in home condition. Overseas, it's different.

"Here, you want prime form, you want someone like Gill, who's red hot. He will challenge. He has to bang that door down and get into the side. Now, he's not the vice-captain, it has to be team management's decision," said Shastri.

Box Office Report: Akshay-Emraan's Selfiee Earns Rs 3.80 Crore On Day 2

Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi's recently released movie Selfiee witnessed a slight rise in earnings, but it "continues to shock and demoralise the industry". On the second day at the box office, the movie earned Rs 3.80 crore, as per trade analyst Taran Adarsh. The total now stands at Rs 6.35 crore. On the first day of its release, the movie earned just Rs 2.55 crore. "#Selfiee struggles on Day 2... The big jump - so essential after a disastrous start - is clearly missing... The poor biz continues to shock, sadden and demoralise the industry... Fri 2.55 cr, Sat 3.80 cr. Total: Rs 6.35 cr+. #India biz," tweeted Taran Adarsh.

Read Taran Adarsh's tweet below:

Taran Adarsh described the opening day collection as "disastrous." He wrote, "Selfiee has a disastrous Day 1... Sends shock waves throughout the industry... One of the lowest starts for a film that has several prominent names attached to it... Fri Rs 2.55 cr+ India biz."

Check out the tweet below:

Helmed by Raj Mehta, the movie also stars Diana Penty and Nushrratt Bharuccha in pivotal roles. The movie is a remake of the 2019 Malayalam film Driving Licence, which featured Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu.

Film critic Saibal Chatterjee, in his review for NDTV, wrote, "Script isn't King inSelfiee. It is an unabashed Akshay Kumar show. The star leaves absolutely nothing to chance. He stamps himself on everything that the vapid film has on offer. The narrative (derived from the late Sachy's screenplay) is tweaked and stretched to make space for an actor in search of a hit. But nothing clicks."

Masaba Gupta's Sunday Inspiration Is Mom Neena Gupta, Shares Beautiful Pics

Celebrated designer Masaba Gupta's Sunday inspiration is none other than her mother Neena Gupta, and we cannot agree more. The designer uploaded two pictures of her mother on Instagram on Sunday morning and it reeks of beauty and elegance. In one of the frames, we see a young Neena Gupta sitting on the beach in what seems to be her jogging clothes. It is however her green hairband that adds a dash of spunk to her look. In the second frame, we see a zoomed-in image of the eyes of Neena Gupta. The pictures are aesthetically appealing and worth all the inspiration that Masaba might be needing for her next campaign. The designer captioned the post as "Neenaji Sunday Inspo (Inspiration) - this is our next campaign just saying @houseofmasaba I'm inspired.".

Masaba Gupta's words were corroborated by many Instagram users who praised the actress for staying beautiful even now. "Wow, you're beautiful from then till now," wrote one Instagram user while another said, "She is super gorgeous". Here's a look at the post:

A few hours ago, Neena Gupta herself uploaded a picture from her younger days and captioned it "Ye thi main (This was me)". Many however, disagreed including actor Sunil Grover who said "Abhi bhi yahi ho (You are still the same)". Take a peek:

Designer Masaba Gupta and actor Satyadeep Misra got married in an intimate ceremony last month. Actress Neena Gupta also posted a picture from her daughter Masaba's wedding to actor Satyadeep. "Aaj beti ki shaadi huee dil mein ajeeb see shanti khushi abhaar aur pyaar umda hai (my daughter got married today. My heart is filled with peace, gratitude and love). Sharing with you friends," she wrote. Both bride and mother are dressed in outfits from Masaba's design label. House of Masaba. Masaba Gupta and Satyadeep Misra, who met on the sets of her show Masaba Masaba, had a court wedding in January.

In a second post, Neena Gupta broke down the family members who were at the wedding: Beti, naya beta, bete ki ma, bete ki behen, beti ka pita, main aur mera pati (daughter, new son, son's mother, son's sister, daughter's father, and my husband)," she captioned a group photo. These are - Satyadeep's mother and sisters Nalini and Chinmaya Misra, cricketer Viv Richards and Vivek Mehra, whom Neena Gupta married in 2008.

Masaba Gupta and Satyadeep Misra announced they were married in a post on social media. The post has two photos of the newlyweds, both in pink – Satyadeep's outfit is also from House of Masaba. "Married my ocean of calm, this morning. Here's to many many lifetimes of love, peace, stability, and most importantly laughter. And thanks for letting me pick the caption - this is gonna be great," reads the caption.

Amid Lay-Offs, Google Now Fires Robots Who Cleaned Trash : Report

Recent layoffs have impacted thousands of workers across the globe. However, it appears that even robots are now a part of it. Alphabet's newest subsidiary, Everyday Robots, is a team that trained over a hundred wheeled, one-armed robots to clean cafeteria tables, separate trash and open doors. However, Google has announced its closure as a part of budget cuts sweeping the parent company, according to a report in Wired.

Denise Gamboa, Director of Marketing and Communications for Everyday Robots, said, "Everyday Robots will no longer be a separate project within Alphabet. Some of the technology and part of the team will be consolidated into existing robotics efforts within Google Research."

It was a subsidiary of Alphabet's X moonshot lab, a secret research and development facility established by Google in 2010. According to robotics experts, each of its robots is likely to cost tens of thousands of dollars.

The outlet added that these costs were extremely expensive for Alphabet, whose more speculative "other bets" such as Everyday Robots and Waymo lost $6.1 billion last year. Alphabet's overall profit fell 21 per cent to $60 billion last year as Google advertising spending slowed. Since then, activist investors have been clamouring for the company to make cuts.

It is to be noted that Alphabet has not disclosed which Everyday Robots assets and team members will be transferred to other research teams.

In January, Alphabet Inc announced that it was eliminating about 12,000 jobs or six per cent of its workforce. CEO Sundar Pichai told staff in a memo that the firm had reviewed its products, people and priorities, leading to job cuts across geographies and tech. It had rapidly expanded for better times but now faced "a different economic reality".

"The fact that these changes will impact the lives of Googlers weighs heavily on me, and I take full responsibility for the decisions that led us here," said Mr Pichai.

The job losses at the company affected recruiting teams, some corporate functions along with engineering and product teams.

Watch: "Am I Their Coach?" - Irritated Babar's Sharp Retort To Journalist

Pakistan cricket skipper Babar Azam is well known for his witty answers during press conferences and he was in full form after the Pakistan Super League (PSL) match between Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United. Babar played for Karachi Kings till the last edition of the tournament before making a move to Zalmi and a reporter decided to ask him a question about his connection with the franchise. Karachi Kings have struggled to perform well this year and when asked about what changes the team can potentially make, Babar had a straight answer for the reporter.

"Main unka coach thodi hu? Aapse mujhse puch rahe hai unke baare mein. Aj ke match ki baat karte hai (Am I their coach? Why are you asking me about them? let's talk about today's match)," he said.

The answer reminded fans of a similar interaction between India skipper Rohit Sharma and a Pakistani journalist. The right-handed batsman was asked about how Pakistan batters can improve and he quickly responded to the question - “Agar main Pakistan ka coach bana to main bataunga, abhi kya bataunga (If I become the coach of Pakistan, I can tell. What will I say now).”

Babar was the top-scorer for his side with a brilliant half-century but was unable to guide Peshawar Zalmi to victory over Islamabad United. Hasan Ali produced a brilliant spell of bowling to stop Zalmi from scoring big and in response, Rahmanullah Gurbaz slammed 62 off just 31 deliveries to hand Zalmi a crushing six-wicket defeat.

In Rare Occurrence, US Woman Gives Birth To 'MoMo' Twins

In a rare instance, a woman in the United States had consecutive pregnancies that resulted in the birth of two pairs of identical twins. Britney Alba found out she was expecting twins again about six months after giving birth to her first set of twins, a boy and girl called Luka and Levi, according to a press release by University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).

These kinds of twins are known as 'MoMo', an abbreviation for monoamniotic-monochorionic. The shared the same placenta, amniotic sac and fluid. As per the university, MoMo twins are some of the rarest types of twins, making up less than one percent of all births in the United States. It is to be noted that MoMo twin pregnancies have a high risk of fetal complications.

Ms Alba was admitted to UAB's High-Risk Obstetrics Unit when she was 25 weeks pregnant. She stayed there for more than 50 days as a result of the complications. Considering the high risk of stillbirth associated with MoMo births, doctors stated that their aim was to deliver the twins via caesarean section, as per the country's standard, at 32 to 34 weeks.

The couple welcomed the twins Lydia and Lynlee Alba on October 25, 2022.

"The team conducted ongoing prenatal care, including fetal monitoring several times a day to ensure the twins remained well. Given the rarity of her pregnancy, Alba was also visited by medical students, residents and fellows," the hospital said in a statement.

Since the twins were born during 32nd week, they received care in the newborn unit of the hospital for months before they were discharged on December 7, 2022.

"It was nerve-wracking to think about the journey ahead of me and being away from my boys for several weeks. But I knew I had a village at home and would be in great hands at UAB, which calmed my worries," Ms Alba said in a press release.

Rachel Sinkey, an assistant professor in the UAB's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, said in a statement, "While extremely rare, MoMo twin pregnancies have a high risk of fetal complications. They share everything except umbilical cords, which can easily become entangled in a single sac. Unfortunately, there is a high rate of stillbirths associated with MoMo twins."

She further added, "From beginning to end, Britney and the girls have defied all odds."
